A Shooting Slump is Contagious

(Smith) The Knicks’ sixth man missed all eight of his attempts on Saturday against Philly.

In all, he’s missed 21 of his last 24 shots.

Mike Woodson called Smith’s shooting slump a “major concern.”

“J.R. is a big part of what we do on both ends of the floor. He didn’t even make a shot tonight (so we’ve) got to program him back to playing, Woodson said. “…. We’re going to need it.”

Smith said after the game that he may be overthinking things on the offensive end.

Add to that Iman Shumpert has missed his last 11 FGAs and is shooting just 28% from the field since his return and Steve Novak is just 9-24 in his last 5 and it’s no wonder why there has been a lack of balance offensively.

Ray Felton needs to get up to speed here and help create some space and movement in order to get this offensive rhythm going.
