Only great part about this season is Woody's ultimate demise by the end of the year. Sure we are stuck with virtually the same roster but you cant have both the worst point guard and coach in the league...

1) Coaches are supposed to come up with an established game plan catered to his personnel  and move forward.

   How long did it take Woody to even name a starting lineup for this season? He pins Iman Shumpert who came off of a good season and an   even better playoff series against JR Smith? The guy who elbowed Jason Terry to get suspended and then shoot us out of the playoffs. The guy who is coming off a fresh knee surgery. The guy who was busted for the 3rd time smoking pot by the league and suspended the first 5 games. I am not even going to go into detail how he tried to reinvent the wheel against Indiana and got hammered by Frank Vogul. It was like watching me play chess against Bobby Fisher.

2) Coaches need to make adjustments not only during the season but during actual games.

     Woody has been called out through his own players and many analysts for being unable to make any late game adjustments. We get beat the same way through incessant double teaming opening up a three for our opponent easily. We are known as the most switching defense in the league and opposing players after the game constantly say that they knew the Knicks were going to switch. He has stated that switching in not the game plan by any means but game after game goes by and nothing changes.

3) Coaches put their players in a position to succeed.

     Woody has taken any value (players not named Carmelo) of our roster and has decreased it to close to nothing. Nobody is having fun in his 'system.' He plays favorites and it is obvious to the younger guys and more importantly to the veterans. Great coaches always have the next guy lined up (and prepared) for when someon e is playing poorly for an extended stretch. He leans on guys who are playing poorly (JR was on pace for the worst true shooting % of all time for a guy getting 30+ mpg) way too often. I will never forget Greg Popovich sitting the Spurs starters almost all game because he was disgusted with their play (Knicks blew them out from the get go). Without punishments there is no learning. Our once seemingly deep roster has been reduced to rubble. Iman just stated that playing in this season has been more frustrating than sitting out with his ACL injury. Woody preaches defense and continues to play Amare (worst plus/minus on the team) heavy minutes instead of a guy like Metta.

4) Coaches need to have creativity on offense especially down the stretch when the defense starts to become lockdown.

     Woody has been the new iso-coach king for the past decade almost. From Iso-Joe to Iso-Melo. Melo stated himself that we need to be more creative/more movement on offense because he cant save the day all the time. I believe that Melo's uncharacteristic lack of clutchness this eason is directly due to him leading the league in minutes. He rarely gets rest and plays in very long spurts. This will kill you down the stretch when you want to get that extra lift on a jumper or that extra step on the defense. Melo has also stated that it is frustrating that we keep losing the same way everytime. This is more of an indictment on the coach rather than his teammates.

5) Coaches need to communicate with there players.

     Woody also happens to have a failing grade when it comes to communicating with his players and establishing a role for them. Metta and Beno are championship players who we begged to come here and be an important part of the rotation only to be disrespected. How excited were you when you found out we signed these players? How do you feel now that we are the worst team in the league and we still never gav e them the time of day. Players on the outside of the Knicks org take notice oh how you handle your players. They see the claims you make in the media and then they see you turn back on those words. It makes us look unprofessional (big surprise right?) and trust me players in the future will take notice when they are deciding between the Knicks and a bunch of other teams on where to sign.

These are just a few points on a historically bad season. Such high expectations for viable reasons only to see us never have a chance with this coaching staff.

And to think, things MIGHT have been better if Woodson would have been fired in December like any other normal coach would have been.

This whole Jason Collins thing has become a full-fledged circus act. I mean the guy has been invited to the white house to have dinner with the president just for coming out of the closet...I cant even go on ESPN anymore because they are just trying to milk this story financially for all its worth. Treat the guy like a human being and less like a zoo animal in a cage. Im sure Jason just wants to play ball and talk about how he should have played better during his postgame interview rather than answer questions to the tune of "How was it being homosexual athlete and playing ball at the same time tonight, Jason?" I mean if you're talking about equality, then lets treat all these guys like ball players. I understand the initial story but it has gotten to be a little much.

Rant over, Knicks suck.

Dolan needs to suffer and be punished for the mess that is the knicks.... He has destroyed this once proud franchise. Problem is I dont think we can do it. Unless one of you really gonna take up where the staten island teen left off. Probably nothing else will do!

Honestly this season has just a pure and utter pain in my heart. I believed with every bone in me we would get back @ indiana and beat they ass for what they and the refs did to us last playoffs. What i have seen from chandler i do not like. VS orlando is the first game i really saw him go after it. SORRY DUDE.. to late.. Melo has been melo. Stat has given his all once again. K mart makes a difference, metta would have... ( dont get me started on him) . But honestly i loved woody when he got here, wanted to extend him and keep him. I how ever can not turn a blind eye anymore. Its is clear, beyond crystal mr white white clear that he does not know what in the world he is doing. Its either that or the players really just don't like him. This team doesn't play hard for him, where are the bodies on the floor? Where are the (jared jeffries) charges being taken aside from STAT.. LIKE COMMON STAT !! .. Man this is all jacked up i don't even get on facebook cause all these fake miami fans spam my wall, brooklyn fans as well. I mean dam they play with no urgency, no pride , no respect for the orange and blue. Last year team, wow how i miss those guys. How i miss that feeling of belief, belief in my team. For the first time as a life long knick fan i have quit on the orange and blue. I just can't watch these predictable outcomes. They leave me physically sick, they turn my stomach.. no they really really do. I just can't my guys i just can't anymore. I have always loved my knicks, i still remember how the announcer would pronounce the whole 94 team , and our cheesy go new york go new york go theme song, and the lights going off with the cheap visual to the road to the garden, dam i miss those days. These guys we have now, just do not care, they don't. I want oakley on the bench, ewing on the bench, and thing that reminds me of real knicks basketball. cause this .. this crap we have been watching that's just plain ol crap.. Only thing good about this season... TIMMY JR..

Just wondering about K-Mart after the banishment of MWP and Beno. Has anyone seen him on the bench or around the team lately. He's been out three weeks with an ankle sprain.

OFF TOPIC- This Jason Collins spin is what's wrong with the media

the dudes sucks no pun intended and yet they showcase him like he was the next coming ,now if Vince Carter came out the closet that would be news and actually he would be one of the best openly G-A-Y athletes

but as for Collins he played in the NBA while he was in the closet and is pretty much the same bum.

Reports saying the Knicks FO's options are: Earl Clark, Doigu, Granger (no chance).

Since the team's so over the cap and paying 17 players, only one roster spot can be used.

@onewhoknix It's a big story, of course it's going to be all over the news.

It will also be news when Michael Sam plays his first game or when the next gay player openly comes out. Until our society is ready to completely accept the gay community as equals we will keep hearing about these stories.

@Biggie

Don't you get tired of being wrong to me?

The next coach will be "Allen Houston!" That's the reason the Knicks did not fire Woodson, because Houston did not want to come in and take over in the middle of the season, take over GG and Woodson's mess! Mark my words, the hiring of Houston will be made before the summer league games!

@Biggie  I applaud you for finally realizing Woodson will not coach this team next season, which loss confirmed it for you?

@Biggie If I am Calipari, I am going to want to have the same situation like Brad Stevens got in Boston. Basically a chance to build a team with young players who will buy into his system. I don't see Calipari doing anything with this current group going into next season. BUT, I would be happy to see him try.

@OLDKNICK Not that I would ever do it as I don't believe the man deserves to die for running a sports team poorly, but yeah that kid from Staten Island figured out the only way to end Dolan's involvement with the Knicks.

@Jerry Gee

Knicks begged Metta to come here as a vet with championship experience and toughness, and Woody subs him in the game next to Toure Murry and Cole Aldrich in the final minute of a blowout...smh.

How about Fredette, Turner, Belinelli, Scott, Oladipo and Lance all have CAREER highs against us this year. Barbosa did that all in a qtr a week after signing.

@Jerry Gee  Word on the NBA streets is Richard Jefferson,Vince Carter and Jason Collins who all were on the NJ Nets were Suspect.

Jason Collins came out so that actually was some truth

Richard Jefferson left his Fiance at the Alter for some odd reason

this Jason Collins Story will indeed rattle some cages within the Players Association

@VerySilentJay  I'd take Earl Clark of those 3...he won't be picky about playing for a contending team and is an athletic 3/4.

@tdzo @Biggie Calipari's system is all about recruiting superior talent. He's the Nick Saban of college basketball.

onewhoknix

@tdzo @Biggie Brad Stevens was no fool. He basically is going from college to graduate school with all the young/raw talents he will be working with over the next few years but with an NBA contract. Ainge was smart not to select an established veteran but rather a successful college coach who is used to handling young locker rooms and is a great motivator.

@kvdaone. They have no idea that we need a pg, unfortunately

VerySilentJay

@StraightShot  If Granger was an actually possibility, I'd use my energies there, but since he'll only play for a contender, it's a lost cause.

I'll pass on Diogu because Woodson will take minutes away from Tyler, which I'm not cool with.

Hence the only option...Clark. Solid rebounder. Decent defender. Not bad.

thatsagoodpoint
thatsagoodpoint

@onewhoknix @Jesse Brand You didn't but you have to understand, the media was waiting for him to sign with a team for 8 months now. You give a motivated media a major story like this 8 months to come up with questions and whatnot and you'll get what we have right now. Just the nature of the beast really.

@Jesse Brand Somehow I don't think LeBron will be swayed by a new car, cash, and a harem of nubile young coeds so any recruiting advantage Coach Cal may have wlll be nil.

Jason Collins was the starting center for there during the era when they went to the NBA Finals. Classy move by Prohorov and they do need somebody to replace Lopez.

@carl hill @VerySilentJay @Kvdaone

That was unconscionable.

A) Most PG-heavy draft in a decade

B) Team's offense is completely PG-driven

C) Team already had a PF averaging a double-double

Where was the logic behind that pick

@carl hill. EXACTLY... That's the one knock I have on Walsh, his draft picks were weak!!!
