Camby had a magnetic resonance imaging test Friday and did not practice Saturday at the team’s training facility in Greenburgh, N.Y.
The Knicks expect Camby to be out 7 to 10 days. Camby played in 59 games last season with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Houston Rockets and has struggled with injuries the last few years. He missed five games last season because of left ankle and lower back injuries.
The Knicks will play the Washington Wizards on the road Thursday in their first preseason game. They will play the Boston Celtics next Saturday in Hartford.
Tommy DeeThis will keep Camby out of the first preseason game. This isn’t considered serious and you can’t fault the Knicks for being cautious.
