Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo working with boxer in offseason

Carmelo Anthony is working with former pro boxer Hino Ehikhamenor for the fourth offseason in a row (Zwerling, May 13).

Anthony uses boxing to work on his quickness, conditioning and eye-hand coordination.

“He loves boxing,” Ehikhamenor said. “I could tell in his attendance and in his ability to want to learn everything, from his footwork to mastering his form. I see his frustration when he does something wrong. I just simply tell him that this sport takes time, but he’ll get there. He’s the ultimate pro.”

Anyone believe the nets or blazers will have a chance tonight? Or the spurs and heat will send them home.

I wonder if Van Gundy sees a young Howard in Drummond

Kiyan all I am saying is that stat had a productive year. The dude hasn't been able to stay healthy because of constant knee and back injuries. It has shown his work with hakeem and his conditioning has paid off for now. I want amare off the team because he has tunnel vision and his defense is terrible. But I am happy amare was able to have some sort of impact on the offensive end. I didnt expect him to have any impact coming into the season. That's all I am saying man.

Carmelo Anthony could be the next John B. Stetson ... because the NBA superstar tells TMZ Sports he's gunning to start his very own HAT LINE ... and it's gonna be awesome. Anthony is a huge fan of fancy headgear ... from fedoras to berets and even baseball hats -- and most recently rocked a top hat to the Met Gala in NYC. - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.f5PYJVhY.dpuf

"I'm not in a position where I would leave Kentucky right now. I'm not sure whether this is his last contract, or his next-to-last contract. But I would tell you if I had a chance to, I would absolutely." Whenever the Cavaliers are looking for a coach, Calipari's name comes up as a possible lure to bring James back if he opts out of his contract in Miami this summer. The two are close friends. Kalipari would be stupid to leave Kentucky. He literally gets to hand pick his team every year lol

@kingofny

I wouldn't say Amar'e had a good year. He had a pretty good end of season because he was healthy and at times was our only paint presence on a team that loves to shoot but has no shooters.

It's all relative, Kiyan. He was "pretty good" in comparison to last season. Did he have a good season for someone making 22 million? Of course not. Amar'e is not that player anymore. No one should be holding him to those standards because it is unrealistic at this point of his career. He had a better season than last year due to the mere fact that he was able to play more than he did last year and was actually decent towards the end of the year.

Haha I agree. At least try to extend the series. But I doubt both teams will

@kingofny @SheSaidSpikeWho  Because of his injuries?

We went 16-6, I believe, at the end of the season with Amar'e starting. He averaged 17 pts on 57% shooting.

He didn't live up to the contract the Knicks gave him.

@kingofny @SheSaidSpikeWho  You have to get every big man involved. They don't bring the ball up the court. Someone has to actually deliver the ball to the big man. There is no big man in the league that you don't have to get involved.

SheSaidSpikeWho
SheSaidSpikeWho

@kingofny @SheSaidSpikeWho  There's truth to that but at the same time when Amar'e was inserted in the starting lineup towards the end of the season, we started winning. So which one is it?

SheSaidSpikeWho
SheSaidSpikeWho

@kingofny @SheSaidSpikeWho  Amar'e gets plenty blame. He would get criticized on here nonstop for his lack of defense, tunnel vision, signature turnovers, etc. (and rightly so). All you can hope with Amar'e is that he's able to play.

I don't think Amar'e is in the long-term plans. He shouldn't be. I like Amar'e because he works hard...his body has failed him but he is what he is...an injury-prone, overpaid, defenseless player. Anything positive you get from him is gravy for your biscuit lol. He beat everyone's expectations by simply remaining healthy and giving some decent minutes at the end of the year.

Remember, the Knicks gave him that contract when Kerr and the medical docs in Phoenix wouldn't because he had 3 yrs left on his knees. Is that Amar'e's fault for accepting what they offered or is that on our dumb front office?

@kingofny @rgm891 Stat actually remained healthy. Lmao I am done here. If u believe stat didn't have a good year. We know his defense is trash. That's never going to be fixed. If u told me before the season started Stat would last the year that's a lie. I am not even going to bother with you. So immature and cant be reasoned with.

rgm891
rgm891

@kingofny @rgm891 Toney Douglas. Lmao. Stat had a much better year than most people would have thought cause he stayed healthy and was somewhat of a post threat.  That's a plus to me. Now what?

rgm891
rgm891

@kingofny @rgm891 Who does LeBron pass to?? Ray Allen Mario Chalmers Shane Battier.  Give me a break with those points. Chris Bosh has come up big even now and then.  At least the dude gets a chance to take the big shot cause Lebron believes in his team.  Those players have barely any experience to take the big shot. Wait let him pass the ball to Chris Anderson or a broken down Dwade. Wait no pass the ball to  Lewis.

rgm891
rgm891

@kingofny @rgm891 If it was a team sport Melo would look to pass the rock in the closing seconds of the game more. But hey what does he know? Wants to always be the hero like Westbrook.

rgm891
rgm891

@kingofny @rgm891 Melo has been in the league for 10 years and has failed to win anything. Lmao. Makes the same mistake over and over again.  That's why we get on him because he is so stubborn to change his way mainly on the offensive end.  If he wants to be a batman he better get to work.

rgm891
rgm891

@kingofny This makes no sense lmaoo. Phil has to fix the roster to their liking before any sort of judgment is based on the coach.
