Chalmers, Battier out, Wade a game-time decision tonight vs. Knicks

Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers have both been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Knicks. Chalmers is suffering from an injured Achilles and Battier is battling a strained left quadricep. In their absence, Rashard Lewis and Norris Cole are expected to start.

In addition, Dwayne Wade is a game-time decision, although he is expected to play according to Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.

Harris Decker

This is obviously great news for the Knicks who struggle to defend the point guard position on a nightly basis. In addition, the absense of Battier means that Carmelo Anthony will likely draw LeBron James down the stretch, opening up avenues for Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Andrea Bargnani to thrive.

Battier always kills us out of nowhere, only person to worry about is LBJ and Ray Allen

Wade can be contained since he lost his pep

Bargnani will cause matchup problems

All teams have injuries - that's why the usual excuses don't cut it for the knicks. We just have a terrible team.

@knickster We don't have a terrible team. There are marginal differences in players and attitude and confidence helps.

I agree that the team is badly coached. But they are - at best- 12th in the NBA talent-wise. We don't have consistent or 2-way players. As fans, we judge Artest and Kmart for what they were a long time ago, but there is a reason we pulled both of them straight from the unemployment line. Udrih, Prigioni, Felton, Shumpert, JR, Bargnani are all mediocre. Amare is finished. Chandler plays at full strenght half the season only. Carmelo is the only good player.

That's just irrational on that person's part. Wade has been hurt for like two years now...lol...all teams have injuries!
