The Knicks and Clippers are discussing a deal centered around Iman Shumpert (Wojnarowski).
In the rumored deal, the Knicks would send Shumpert and Raymond Felton and receive Darren Collison. The Knicks would also receive Reggie Bullock in the deal (Isola).
3:19 p.m.: Los Angeles’ Jared Dudley is another name that is being tossed around (Begley).
2:58 p.m.: The Knicks are telling teams that if they want Shumpert, they want a first-round pick or the other team must also take on Felton’s deal (Stein).
“The discussions and proposed players are still fluid, league sources said, and a deal isn’t close to being reached,” Woj said.
Collison, 26, is averaging 10.1 points and 3.6 assists per game this season. He is averaging 23.4 minutes per game (more stats). The 22-year-old SG, Bullock is averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.49 minutes per game in his rookie season (more stats).
Harris DeckerHere’s the thing: As desperate as I’d be to get rid of Raymond Felton, Collison is no better than a backup point guard. He’s not a starter, and while he might be better than Felton this year, that’s not saying much. Collision is a piece I wouldn’t mind acquiring, but not at the cost of an asset, no matter how bad Shumpert has been.
