The panel discusses what Phil Jackson needs to address at his introduction as the Knicks President of Basketball Operations on Tuesday, while Joe Benigno and Jonas Schwartz have a war of words…

Joe sounds like a moron here. If nothing Phil says matters, why do we bother to talk about sports in the first place? Why do we have sports radio and columnists and bar discussions. If all that matters is results, why not just publish the standings and the box scores and leave it at that?

Of course plans matter. That's the fun of it. Seeing the plan play out is what's going to keep us sane the next few years, because anyone who thinks the Knicks are going to win next year simply because they have a new president is clearly mistaken. But with good plans, and actually sticking to those plans, we can get somewhere.

SAS I guess has no faith in Phil's ability to attract and change cultures . Nor the fact that Dolan just dropped 60 Mil to let this man do his thing. Donnie Walsh said that most of the deals he worked on Dolan gave him the thumbs up. Sad Stephen A ...very sad

Lets see but I would be very surprised to see Melo move on now. Why not opt in and and see what next year is like . He will get is money and a new deal . So what if he is 31 . No diff between 30 & 31 . Either way , capspace and picks can be had for Melo and this draft is the draft to go after .

He wants his money so hopefully he won't ditch NYK w out compensation and at least let us do a S&T

Joe is absolutely right. All of the daily writers need to fill the pages so they nitpick, and will be looking for some soundbites that they can blow out of proportion. The Daily News and SNY are at war with Newsday and Dolan and are looking for justifications for a negative spin. Joe is saying that in the end the only thing that truly matters is results, and there is no arguing against that. Where Phil is going to live, how many hours will he stay in the office? All of this questions are just fodder for debate until things actually start happening. It's all about results.

"I don't care what your plan is, JUST DO IT!"

And that's how Nike go it's most famous slogan.

Typical Benigno there. Completely missing the point.

Joe happens to be right. The Knicks are a low class franchise with a peon for an owner. They have been a disaster for the past 13 years no matter who the GM, coach, President is. Joe is spot on in saying "Who cares?".

Spot on. I couldnt care less about Phil, his Laker heiress fiancee and his "Zen" persona. Its been proven that front office people are a revolving door with the Knicks and whoever ends up running the team has to put up with a meddling peon of an owner. No draft picks this season? I wonder why that is.

If Phil isnt here to undo the damage that Dolan has done then he is useless.
