Dolan: No changes to Knicks

James Dolan has told the team that there are no coaching changes or trades coming to the Knicks (Stein).

In the last few weeks, there have been plenty of rumors about Mike Woodson and the hot seat he’s perched upon. There have also been rumors of deals including Iman Shumpert, among other players, at the team floundered to a 9-19 record approaching the end of 2013.

It's just Dolan's way of wishing Knick fans a Merry Christmas.  Can't wait until he sends his New Years greetings. lol

Berman tweets

Marc Berman @NYPost_Berman With team so shorthanded, Metta World Peace may suit up. He was leaning toward shutting it down until his bloodspinning procedure Jan. 6th. 29 minutes ago

Marc Berman @NYPost_Berman Woodson said Melo out tonight and probably doesn't take flight to Toronto. Having four days off after must be factor. 42 minutes ago

Well Doldrum I guess you told us. Must be nice to be a billionaire. You can do just about anything you want and virtually no one can do one iota about it. You can take an NBA team and turn it into  a nightmare and its all good. Some of us have rooted for this team since before your sorry azz was born and must silently suffer as you screw up yet another endeavor  like the spoiled little runt you are. Happy New Year AH

I'm so sick and tired of Knicks fans bitching and complaining about how horrible this franchise is when they are the ones spending money on tickets and merchandise. Shame on you.

The only change that will happen is Higher Ticket Prices.

Dolan is a business man and his business is good regardless of the product on the court and sideline

lol.  You can see Guitar Jimmy has now put himself in competition with Prokhorov to see who makes a move first.  The idiot is so intent on proving he's more patient than Prokhorov that he'll continue to let this clown "coach" this team for a while longer.  It's just a really dumb thing to say.  What happens if the Knicks come out and get killed in the home and home by Toronto?  Is Dolan still not making any moves?

Say what you want about injuries, but this has been one of the most incompetent coaching jobs I've ever seen (and that's saying a lot).  Why would the Knicks be "giving up on the season" by replacing a completely incompetent "coach" with another voice?  It's impossible to do a worse job coaching than Woody has so far this year.

Whatever. I'm okay with not making any rash roster moves. I would love a PG, but one isn't going to come cheap.  I'd also like to see what they can get for JR now that he's on the upswing, but it's not imperative. I'd rather see what this squad is capable of with a new coach, first.

Even crappy teams should be playing defense. The level of defense is unacceptable, even with injuries. It's D'antoni-like, arguably worse. Opponents are licking their chops at mismatches on the switches, the backdoor along the baseline is constantly open, and fundamentals like boxing out is simply non-existent. When shot goes up, every player is just standing there looking at the hoop. As soon as the shot goes up, you put a body on a guy! Seriously, this is youth league s&%t.

Woody is either incompetent, or stopped caring. Either way, he has to go.

What no trades or coaching change this is a complete joke lmao

Not sure how I feel about this.  On one hand, it should eliminate all of the recent distractions and finger pointing.  On the other hand, someone has to be held accountable for the mess we have been watching.  Are we really going to watch isolation basketball on offense and constant switching on defense between now and April?

Just got a PS4 and am thinking about getting 2k14, but these Knicks would be too depressing to play with.... : /

Westbrook just had another knee surgery and is out until after All Star break. Crazy.

“Thomas said on WFAN radio Friday morning with Sid Rosenberg and Kim Jones.  Thomas said when asked whether he wanted another GM job. “If the game called me back and I got the opportunity, I would love to. It warms my heart to see all players we had here whom I drafted with the Knicks, they’re doing quite well. I do know if I was able to stick with the plan and let those young players develop, they’d be a pretty good basketball team in the East.’’ Thomas reiterated his comments that he left New York with two future All-Stars (Zach Randolph, David Lee) and a Sixth Man of the Year winner (Jamal Crawford), all of whom were under 29. New York Post

Isiah left Walsh with 2 good PF.  What Walsh did, he gave both away for nothing and bring in Amare to replace them...bad move!!

He also left J crossover and what Walsh did, he replace him with JR.

Walsh was a bad GM!!

zdiddy4nyk

@CL4nyk You are not getting anything for JR now...if he continues to play better, maybe at the trade deadline.

@zdiddy4nyk People don't remember Zbo's value was rock bottom when he was with the Knicks. He was perceived as a declining, no defense, headcase, scoring 17pts on a horrendous team. The kicker was that he had a big contract that extended past 2010, which was the reason Walsh had to ship him off to begin with.

Zbo's tenure with LAC was also considered a failure. It wasn't until he got under Lionel Hollins in Memphis did he resurrect his career, because he was finally playing a shred of defense and wasn't chucking 3's.

@zdiddy4nyk are you serious or are you 12 years old?

the problem with the Knicks today is they resemble the mess that Thomas made, the worst nightmare in NY Basketball history.

Knicks_Fanatic

@zdiddy4nyk

That team was 23-59 when Isiah left with a $100+ million payroll. They were 23rd in offense and 29th in defense. You act like Donnie broke up the 1960's Boston Celtics.

Walsh put together a young team that was over .500, heading for the playoffs and still under the cap even with Eddy Curry's contract.

Then Dolan took over. Now we have a team, like Isiah's. loaded with talent at 9-19, 19th in offense and 25th in defense, and with an $88 million payroll.

Beno said, "Don't just be a coach. Be a person."

Woody said, "It wasn't that important as far as I was concerned."

It means unless you are Melo, JR, or one of his favorites, you aren't that important.

@BiggieSmalls

you  are not serious are you. Forget that every team in the east sans the Knicks and Nets are trying to tank and get  one of the rooks coming out this year. We are talking about the team that was supposed to compete with the Heat for the East. Now we are talking about catching up to the teams trying to tank. You sir ar e a complete idiot

SheSaidSpikeWho

@BiggieSmalls @SheSaidSpikeWho He has an Amar'e type thing going on...3 surgeries in 9 months. He just had a triple double against us the other day. I still remember that game against OKC where Amar'e had a great game and the next day he was out due to knee surgery.

zdiddy4nyk
zdiddy4nyk

@rico @zdiddy4nyk If you don't think the Walsh signing of Amare, to be our highest paid player, is not the worst Knicks move in the last 15 years...you need to go back one year in school and repeat pre-K.

No team can win with Amare being the highest paid player on the team...period!!

Walsh cleared cap space and then left us with a team over the cap and you think Walsh was a good GM.

SuperDuper
SuperDuper

@Knicks_FanaticWalsh together a young team that was over .500?

They was 2 games over .500 for half a season. The rest of the time they competed for the worst Knick team ever.

zdiddy4nyk
zdiddy4nyk

@Knicks_Fanatic Walsh put together some of Isiah players Wilson Chandler, Nate, etc.  He put together the 3rd worse defensive team in the NBA led by a "no D" Antoni and "no D or rebounding" Amare...great job by Walsh.

Injures has a lot to do with this team record.  But wasting so much of our cap space on Amare is our single biggest problem...thanks Walsh!!

ZBO and Lee would be better fits on this team than wasting $100 mill on Amare...period!!

Will Franklin

We will pull these 2 games out without melo and save him for the stretch of game where he will have to play 40 min just to keep us with the other teams

@bockers@BiggieSmalls And then what. This team and its coach are a complete discrace, and you want to go into some playoffs with this bumbling stumbling bunch of clowns led by Homie the Clown?

Kenny Kaufman
Kenny Kaufman

Lol, I hate your MELO-bashing but I agree with you on this one! First move is to dump Woody! Problem is nobody will take the job midseason, so we are kinda stuck this year!

zdiddy4nyk
zdiddy4nyk

@BiggieSmalls @SheSaidSpikeWho He is not...Durant shooting % goes down without Westbrook.  He has to work for his shots, similar to what Melo has to do every game.

Melo would be way more efficient scoring the ball, if he had a PG like Westbrook, that breaks down defenses and create easy shots for him.

@SuperDuper Exactly...Walsh was loved by the media.  Therefore, he didn't get the negative press for all the bonehead moves he made.

SuperDuper

@Knicks_FanaticDonnie would not had amnesty Amare. He gave him that horrible contract. amnesty would had meant admitting his mistake.

Knicks_Fanatic
Knicks_Fanatic

@zdiddy4nyk

Well, your guy Dolan won and so you should be happy. We have a strong defensive minded coach as well. Isiah loves Woody and supports him as the perfect coach our team.

Now, of course, Donnie wouldn't have traded for Billups and had the amnesty to use on Amar'e. Then we only be $10 million over the cap instead of $30 million.
