Harris DeckerThis month’s fan confidence rating is out and it is not good. Confidence dropped from 11.27 percent last month to just 9.99 percent this month. What does that mean? It means that less than 10 percent of Knicks fans believe that the team is heading in the right direction.
Obviously, this shouldn’t be news to anyone. With the injuries mounted on top of the horrible losses, this year has been an absolute disaster and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
For me, the number is in line with what I would have guessed. With all of the struggles, it does feel like the ship is slowly turning around, but it’s like trying to turn around a cruise ship in a pond. Things will get better for the Knicks this year, but fan confidence is a tricky thing. It is slow to react and hard to earn back.
Tracking this level from before the season started, it is scary to see how far the Knicks have fallen.
