Felton arraigned on two counts of weapon possession, bail set at $25k

Raymond Felton was arraigned on two counts of weapons possession, sources told SNY’s and The Knicks Blog’s Adam Zagoria. He will not be charged with menacing.

Felton’s bail will be set at $25,000 and he will face an order of protection against his estranged wife, Zagoria’s sources said.

He will face one D and one E felony, Zagoria’s sources said.

Felton’s case will be adjourned until June 2 and until then he can travel with the team.

“That’s good news for Raymond Felton in that if he’s convicted a judge would have sentencing discretion and also this means if he works out a plea deal the chances of going to jail would be lower,” Michael McCann, Sports Illustrated and NBA TV legal analyst, said. “Based on what we heard early in the day this is a positive turn of events for Raymond Felton.”

Are the Knicks finally getting some reasonable management.  Much as I believe they have been terrible for so long there seems to be a modicum of intelligence to their decision making.  First, Woodson as bad as he is keeping for the year is not unreasonable.  Because they cannot get a real coach until next year, waiting might be the best course.  It is interesting to note that Metta said that Kidd was the real coach last year.  Now if this slowly became obvious waiting and not replacing him with Herb makes some sense.  Evaluation: to be determined after we see their coaching move.  If they do not fire Woody at the end of the season then you know they are crazy.   Releasing Metta and signing Earl Clark a reasonable decision.   Clark has some upside and he is young.   So he worth the bet.  Reports say they refused a late round draft choice for Shumpert.  A reasonable decision.   Shumpert under the right coach could blossom.  The failure to bring in another point guard possibly a bad decision.   But was there one available.  My friend who has had season tickets in the 19th row center and is giving them up this year, invited me to Golden State game Friday and

we are going to make another evaluation.

This is a dream for JR.  He is just a pot smoking knucklehead.  If it weren't for Ray's little incident, people would be talking about his latest on court nonsense.

Oh to be a fly on the wall during the offseason meetings between Mills/Dolan and Anthony on why he should stay with the Knicks.

we shouldn't be doing anything until coach incompetent is out! getting new players will not solve abysmal coaching!

So with this crap show of a season by the knicks, why will melo stay? I will not blame Melo one bit for walking at the end of the season; I would leave if i was in his position where i already made 100 mil in my life i wouldn't stay in this mess for 30 mil. I would go join Mia or Chi for 99 mil and a shot at a title and most importantly out of the knicks circus

Earl Clark looked so promising on the Lakers with Dantoni not too long ago. Don't these players know any better? You play for Dantoni if you want to increase your player value, but playing for Woodson is where careers go to die lol

Frank Gebel Jr.
Frank Gebel Jr.

Fredette is nothing to write home about but he does fit into the Woodson theory...bring the ball up the court ,give to Melo, ,stand at the 3 point circle every once in a while you will get a open 3 and play no defense!

If Melo leaves, the Knicks can sign Lebron, correct?

Dwight Howard Privately Advising Carmelo Anthony on Upcoming Free Agency

"He has been in the league for a long time. He hasn't made it to the Finals and at this point in his career he wants to win. You can see it every night when he plays. I know he has to take a lot of shots and all that stuff, but he just wants to win.

I can't say (what he'll do). That's on him. He's got to decide. (But) he can't be what everybody else wants. In this situation, you've got to take your heart out of it…So I'd just say for him, take his heart out of it and think with his head and think about business."

What i like about Brown and Clark, they're more so scrappy players that will be good to throw at Miami defensively since Shump is out

Dahntay Jones is a better overall Defender and a pesk but offensively he'll only drive the ball which is not Woodson's Philosophy

more chuckers the better.

@tifoso6

Earl Clark and Shannon Brown are not going to contribute much to any NBA team at this point in their careers. The Knicks simply got rid of two players who didn't fit in with Woody and got two more that will take their place on the bench.

@tifoso6 IDK. I understand the idea that they kept him around for the year because they couldn't get anyone else I just don't trust the FO to make the right hire.

@tifoso6  Is he giving those tix up because he has had enough of this franchise?  Those are great seats.

@lindro88  smoking a lot weed can bring on psychosis. i think he has some kind of OCD thing where he can't control himself and he feels the compulsion to mess with what the opposing players are wearing. I'm serious.

@onewhoknix Melo will resign because of the 130m dollars he will receive.  Plain and simple.  I already have a bet with Elvis,  (tix to Knicks vs Clippers next season)   I will take all bets on Melo.  Anything (within reason) that anyone wants to put down, that Carmelo Anthony will sign on the line when the time comes.  All of the nonsense that is going on, will be a distant memory when he is presented with the "new plan' that most importantly I believe will make him the highest plaid player in the NBA.

AgeesCatch
AgeesCatch

@onewhoknix He has no assets to bring in. Bargnani has inconsistent talent, which is the worst of all.  Amare can score at times but play little defense.  Chandler is you best defender but offers little offensively.  He is actually the best trade chip we have.  You nay not stop Hibbert, but you can at least slow him down. Some team in the east may view Tyson as the missing piece to the puzzle.

AgeesCatch
AgeesCatch

@knickkee What is amazing is that we are back in blow up mode.  Amare's contract won't expire soon enough for Melo to want to stay. The team has no immediate future. The best thing the Knicks can do is negotiate a sugn and trade with melo's new team and try to get some vale back.

@knick4life  Honestly, I think he's here because Dolan would rather make him suffer through the misery of the remainder of the season, rather than go take a nice vacation, while still collecting his checks.

@OLDKNICK Melo should be sacred straight to listen to Howard. Howard hasn't like lit it up moving to LA and now Houston.

Also if our his agent go talk to dolan/Mills and go out and get Shannon Brown and Clarke, maybe Melo needs to ask for bigger things.

lindro88

@KnickelusKnickleby  Im going to go out on a limb and say the only way they play in that game, is if we are down 30 pts.

tifoso6

@lindro88 @tifoso6  he is a former point guard in college a long time ago.   He cannot stand watching them anymore.   To many times they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is giving them up because he only goes maybe ten times a year.  Usually he sells them.   But he has not sold any seats this year except for LeBron and

a few others.   An expensive bath at close to four hundred or more a ticket.

@knickkee @lindro88

People give drugs a bad name. I knew guys back in the 1960's that people claimed drugs messed them up. Not true, they were messed up long before they did drugs.

lindro88
lindro88

@knickkee @lindro88  Could be.  He found a way not to do that last year when he was playing for a contract.  He's an immature mess, and the Knicks are getting what they deserve for giving him 3 years and financial security.  All those posts, talking about the fact that we might as well sign him, because that money cant be used for anyone else. Letting JR leave would have been addition by subtraction.  Too late now, we are stuck with him for two more years.

onewhoknix
onewhoknix

@lindro88 @onewhoknix I think he stays with a slight paycut. Melo easily covers any money lost with his watch sponsorship, his sneaker sponsorship, and various investments we don't even know about. I dont think he was lying when he said he is good with money right now and would take less. He is more about his legacy and perception at this point. He knows the Knicks are the laughingstock of the league. He knows he has the worst playoff winning percentage out of any star. He knows how many times he hasn't been out of the first round. To me this will be the bigger kicker. It still hurts Barkley till this day to sit around players and talk about rings. These guys are NBA players and the they want a ring to solidify their careers.

Kenny Kaufman
Kenny Kaufman

I believe he will stay and at less then 130million!

knickgirl35
knickgirl35

@lindro88 @onewhoknix  i believe he's staying not because of the money but because he has the most heart of any NBA player in the league IMO. he is not the type of guy who could live with himself if he went seeking out stars to GO play with. he wants players to COME TO HIM.

that's why lebron should never be on the mount rushmore of top players. NONE of them went seeking out other stars to go and play with. STARS SEEKED THEM OUT!

knickgirl35
knickgirl35

@AgeesCatch @knickkee  The best we can do is get a new GM and Coach. Get some smart people in here to take over. Dolan has to step off and let intelligent bball minds run the show. That would do wonders.

@lindro88 @Kenny Kaufman  the heat had a fire sale and got rid of most of their players to build their team.

lindro88
lindro88

@Kenny Kaufman  The reason I think he won't take less, is because the Knicks can not guarantee that those extra dollars are going to bring in any particular player.  If they had cap space  this offseason, and a big time player was available and wanted to come to NY, I could see him taking less.  That is not the case.  I don't even think the Knicks will ask him to take less.  I think hes a max player and will get his max contract.

lindro88
lindro88

@knickkee @lindro88 @onewhoknix  Thats a very noble thought.  I believe he has heart too, but IMO it will be about the 130m.  We'll see in a few months.  If he stays and decides to take less than the max in order to help free up money to bring in other players, than it would be less about the money and more about what you said.

knickgirl35
knickgirl35

@AgeesCatch @knickkee  whenever dolan decides to do the right thing for this team, like fire the loser coach and stop running team ops, that's when we'll get our chip. with him running and ruining the team, we won't get anywhere.
