Melo came here 3 years ago and the teams winning percentage is roughly 53 percent not including 33 percent in the playoffs.

Melo has co-signed this coach because I believe he lets him do what he wants i.e. jack up shots whenever he wants. Just because he makes some of those TERRIBLE shots, it does not equate to winning basketball. This is the reason the offense looks like a pick up basketball game in the street.

Yes, this team is bad this year, but not too much of a different team they had last year minus the LEADERSHIP guys that are gone, which speaks VOLUMES of the people that are here, coach included. Therefore this team should not be expected to compete for a championship but if this were LBJ, Durant, Chris Pauls team would they be this bad? I think not. They are not even respectable. Those guys would DEMAND that we be better/decent which is kind of what Ron Artest alluded to.

Now to address the way this team is built. Melo has no one to blame but himself for forcing the Knicks to give away all of its assets in order to get him here. This also includes getting Jeremy Lin shipped out of town. Now before you jump all over me and say all these players are garbage, pay close attention to the fact I called them assets. At the time nobody knew what those players were going to turn out to be therefore any team inquiring about them would trade for them based on their future POTENTIAL. Meaning we had a lot of pieces on our squad that could have been used to make potential championship moves/trades.

Now you have the star player opting out and holding the franchise hostage because things arent to his liking?

He OWES it to the knicks to re-sign.

He OWES it to the knicks to take a pay cut.

He OWES it to the knicks and fans to recruit players. We blew up the team to get you here!!! Now you want to walk away and leave the knicks with no assets, no draft picks, and no playoffs because you dont like whats happening?

Man up Carmelo. Ask for a real coach who will push you to be better. Stop taking a backseat and DEMAND more from your coaches, teammates and the organization. Come into camp in WORLD CLASS shape.

Be a team player. Stop ball hogging. Stop bringing up the ball. You remember that night he dropped 62 points? NO SMILES. I dont expect 62 every night but i expect the same intensity. NO SMILES.

And stop making excuses for the guy. Hes better than this and ALL YOU KNOW IT.

A lot of expiring contracts too.....maybe Orlando would want stat in last year of his contract n he could put some people in stands in orlando

We have had some good draft picks the last few drafts: timmy n shump

jax13
jax13

Trades will be made after this season, trade anyone not named melo, if he stays......

If melo stays, 2015 is when, if done right with a good coach n gm....we could be a serious contender.

If melo leaves, we begin being good in 2015 but we are looking for our star building blocks.....

We are playing a waiting game right now til melo either leaves or stays....

jax13

That's the problem. An unorganized front office that has no communication. They communicate nothing to us, the fans.....which tell me there is chaos in front office.....

If Melo ends up leaving, what do u guys think the Knicks so called "plan" will be?  I mean the most logical sense is try to get as many draft picks as possible right?  But knowing Dolan he doesnt want to rebuild.  I have no idea what Dolan and his so called "team" are thinking at this point.

Just out of curiosity: Why would pgs like CP3(the best) and Rondo( top 5) publicly state that they wanna play with Melo??......another question: if Kobe makes players better, why did Shaq want out?

Who would want to coach the Knicks in 2014-15? Quite a motley collection of ballers. Maybe that's why Woody still has a job.

How about this... @ Kvdaone @ xmenreturn... How many assists would Melo have this year had guys hit only half the shots they took when he passed them the ball..... Hope to hear back soon

Man I wish I could show up to work and do as terrible as job as Woodson and not get fired.  This guy is living the ultimate dream.

I have been a fan of the Knicks since 1946.   My friend has had seasons tickets for forty years.  Tonight we are going to our last game until Dolan cleans up his act.   My friend is giving up his season tickets. We are not going to anymore games.  And we are not going to buy tickets on the secondary market because this enables people to buy tickets for the season and  then sell them.   If all the Knick fans would do the same thing maybe Dolan would get out of the way and hire a real basketball man.   The interesting question is how to go from winning 54 games to winning 30.   This is the biggest drop in history.  Any ideas?

@ rgm891. I honestly think we never "rebuild" because we don't even have a clue if who to draft.... When's the last time we drafted a sleeper or diamond in the rough?

@chudogz You got the same people who are saying that Melo will never be able to win by himself telling you how great Kobe LBJ and KD are with hall of fame teammates. Lol they confuse leadership for star teammates.

@chudogz  I am a big Melo supporter but it's time he starts changing his game regardless of who is on your team. Melo scoring 40 plus points is not going to win you anything besides making his stats better overalll.  These players are having huge problems mentally. Jr Smith is getting more assist than Melo at this point recently.  What does that tell u.  That Melo can also.  Melo needs to stop worrying about scoring 40 plus points a night and help players get into a better rhythm throughout the whole game.  There are stretches where certain players dont even touch the ball when Melo is playing.  This hurts their confidence overall on both ends of the floor.  Bargnani, never touched the ball in the second half and looked how he performed.  Tim Hardaway Jr needs confidence in order to perform well.  Just as mostly all our players.  Jr smith is a lone exception because he can create his own shot.  That's why he can shoot the stepback jay or drive to the hoop easier.  If Melo wants to be considered a leader we have to hold him to higher expectations.  Instead of always shooting, how about trying to create a double off the dribble and boom a slashing THJR has a great chance to finish.   I understand his talent around him is not great but this is beyond pathetic.  The offense needs to change also.  Teams are forcing one player to beat them every single night.  Look where that has gotten us.  I am not comparing Melo to anyone I am just showing where a player such as Melo can become a better player and stop always ruining the flow of the game with holding the ball for 20 seconds in the shot clock for example or running up the court and shooting the worst possible three ball in transition. Melo sometimes waits for the play to develop.  Melo u can create the play with ease and make it so much easier for your teammates to succeed.  Again I am not blaming Melo.  Just showing where he can improve.  I believe he can win a chip with a great PG and coach.  But I can see why people bash Melo.

Hassan B
Hassan B

@chudogz  Melo's priority is not getting others hot, how ever it is felton's and the coaches priority to get the other players hot. But when you have your star calling for the ball when someone else is hot. You pass the ball to him changing him to the point. Melo passes the ball on occasion but he is always looking to get himself going before anyone else. Melo is known to turn hot on a dime. Woodson should really work on get everyone else hot before making melo the focus point. Also our offensive scheme is so easy to figure out.. ESPECIALLY IN THE 4th.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@chudogz Who the heck knows. Winning is about winning not about what ifs.  How many rings would Ewing have without MJ? Malone and Stockton?

All u need to know if that we have a very bad coach and the only player with the clout to get him out of here is Melo.  Yet Woody still is here.  Does Melo needs special players on his team to do this as well?

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@rgm891 Yep, I wish I could make that kind of money guaranteed and even get fired.  Kinda makes ya wonder why Isiah groped Lawrence Browne Taylor. Maybe Isiah needed to force his way out of the pain.

@zdiddy4nyk

Wade is hitting 55% of his shots. He is hitting 40% of his threes this year and 43% from 16 to 23 feet. That's not weak.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk It's all about winning in the end.  Yes, it's fund to compare players to other greats.  Robert Horry was not a great player but he surely had it in him to hit the great shot in key moments.  Therefore, he was a winner but never the lead dog.

For Melo, is he a lead dog or just needs to be put in a Robert Horry environment. Lead dogs don't allow bad coaches, players to stick around long.

onewhoknix
onewhoknix

@chudogz The word rebuild is tough to come by with big market franchises. Take a look at LA. The fans of big cities are impatient and want a quick fix when the answer is to rebuild from the ground up sometimes.

@ zdiddy4nyk. But if were so bad with him, why not keep him, be bad, and still get the pick?

@ onewhoknix. People definitely confused.... The top teams benches, would beat our starters...... #facts

chudogz1
chudogz1

@ zdiddy4nyk. I agree, but when ur coach is continuously running ISO plays for the power forward, what do u expect, especially with this surrounding cast... I never said he was the best player in the world, but he is the best player WE HAVE HAD IN DECADES.... It's up to the coach and surrounding cast to improve the situation.... How come a great pg like Rondo or CP3 would even want to play with the guy if he was such a ball hog?

chudogz1
chudogz1

@ Hassan B. I totally agree, but how come no one was saying any of this last year??? Was it because guys were hitting shots quite possibly? And yes, it's the point guard and coaches job more than the power forwards job.... Lin used to look Melo off all the time! I used to play with a chucker too, u just tell them to keep an eye on you and to set up in the left, then u go right... I learned that, all on my own, in 6th-7th grade CYO

chudogz1
chudogz1

@ xmenreturn. No disrespect, but u don't seem to kno what's going on. U want Melo to be the pg and the GM..... U serious??? The owners heads so far up Isaiah's ass, his last name should be Dolan.... OK..... That's the reason the guy ever became the coach in the first place... Isiah, WoodRow n Glen were all butt buddies in Indiana.... So now u want Melo, who's already labeled a coach killer, I'm sure even by u, to get this moron axed..??? SMH... Last time I looked, if there was a competent GM on board, the bozo woulda never got hired, so do some research, b4 ranting about the best player we've had since Ewing, who must I remind u, never got no "real" help either..... Only problem was, he wasn't smart enough to be gone with this mess

tifoso6

@Hassan B @tifoso6  there my friends seats.  they are about 400 a ticket and they are twenty five or so rows from the court in the center.  Do you want them for this season?

onewhoknix

@zdiddy4nyk @onewhoknix @rgm891 well I should take that back. If nobody wants the older guys then they simply contribute to a better lottery pick and then they come off the books. Give amare all those minutes he wants!

Knicks_Fanatic
Knicks_Fanatic

@zdiddy4nyk @Knicks_Fanatic

Sometimes people cherish simple solutions to complex problems. That is what you are doing with Amar'e..

I've checked the game stats and we shot 3 for 16 with 4 turnovers while STAT was on the floor from 6:49 in the 3rd to 6:33 in the 4th and scored 9 points. That's 9 points in slightly more than a quarter. We scored 32 points in the second half after 50 in the first. It's more than defense.

Knicks_Fanatic
Knicks_Fanatic

@zdiddy4nyk @Knicks_Fanatic

No it's more than Amare. We are a bad team, unfortunately.

rgm891

@zdiddy4nyk @chudogz  Yup 150%.  Melo is by far not the problem ziddy!!!!!

rgm891
rgm891

@chudogz  Dude exactly man.  Woodson is the biggest problem and any coach will make this team play so much better.  Our players are walking zombies out there and we run iso iso iso all day everyday.  Nothing will change.

rgm891
rgm891

@Kiyan Carter  That's is on coaching 150% man.  The coaches job is to get everyone involved in the game and play to their strengths.  Melo is one player.  He cant beat 5 players every night.  He has the ball in his hands mostly every offensive possession.  Up to him to get others involved.

chudogz1
chudogz1

@ Kiyan Carter... Seems were wasting our time... Apparently common sense isn't so common!!! Kobe averages like 1 assist per game his whole carreer, who the hell is he making better??? Shaq didn't even wanna play with him

rgm891
rgm891

@zdiddy4nyk  Totally understand but than everyone will suffer on ur team and we will never get over the hump.  This argument will go on and on until Melo gets a better coach and PG or goes to another team.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@chudogz Dude, I want our top dog to lead our team to beat busta teams that we are losing to in our home for starters.  Outside the 2  teams in the East, we have the horses to compete against every other team.

Stop the excuses.  I don't care if Melo plays center.  Lead us to beat the teams we should beat.  I'm not expecting Melo to get this team to beat the best teams.

Melo came here and he chose to go to his organization.  He has to deal with it and be prepared to way in and use his clout.

It's not like we just got this way!  We have been this way for a long time dude. Tell Melo to use Google.

Knicks_Fanatic

@zdiddy4nyk

Wade's shooting percentage is great because he puts the ball in the basket. If Wade is a weak jump shooter then what is JR?

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Wade is a high B-ball IQ player. With LBJ, that's a lot of smarts on the court that has won.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Yep and he made an expedite decision that got him his money but not much else. Once again, decision making!

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk What risk for Melo.  He was a max player already!  Once again, how much less would Melo have risked by waiting?

Melo wanted out fast, his money fast, thought it would be cool playing NYC but without understanding or putting a priority on whether the organization was positioned to win or  what he would need to do to help that.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk @xmenreturn Ok Decrease by how much?

The NBA has expanded so how much less would Melo would have made?  Go for it and then you will see how bad that argument is.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Worried is a relatively term in the NBA.  It maeans the agent was worried about their commission.

Melo should have had no worries. He considered a max player not a role player.  He should have been worried about going to an organization that could help him win a ring if that was his primary thing.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk This is where we differ. No one was saying the new CBA would yield max contracts being 10 mill a year or less.  Melo was guaranteed to make near 20 million no matter what.

Winning in NYC in far more lucrative than any money he would have lost period. Melo keeps making bad decisions or decisions that is short sighed for money and some wonder why he has not much more than that here.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk @xmenreturnSounds like you would make the same bad decision Melo would make.

Melo handcuff the organization somewhat by coming here the way he did and yet he didn't think that would be a factor in getting him top players?

Melo thought Pringles would help him win a ring when he hadn't done that with Nash, STATues in their prime?

Melo thought the East (which is known for defense) would all of certain produce ring winners without defense?

YIKES! The more I think about this, we need to let Melo go soon!

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Once again decision making. He now has the bright lights big city. Now what? We can't make the playoffs?

It doesn't take much research to see where this organization stands in terms of winning. Melo got his money and maybe just thought everyone else would put things in place for him.

Whereas LBJ made sure he wasn't leaving the Cavs to end up in a worse place.

Who made the smartest decision in your opinion? Who makes the smartest decision on the court? Enough said!

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Please. PHX never won anything with STATues and he had the 2 time MVP Nash.

Once again, if Melo didn't know that by coming here he was buying into a Fixer Upper house then he is not very smart as for as winning a ring.

LBJ, left his fixer upper and decided he needed a nice dig in South Bench that needed less work.

Melo went to a worse fixer upper in a place where houses are more closely scrutinized by the public. Not smart unless you are prepared to put in the work that is needed.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Once again it's about decision making.  Melo made his decisions and look where it has taken him?

LBJ made his decisions and he worked it out with Bosh, Wade, Riley and others before he finally decided to make his move from the Cavs.  That was a huge decision because he got vilified for it big time.

Still LBJ made the decision he thought was of most importance to him which was to win rings.

If Melo thought we had the horses to win a ring here before he came here, by playing with STATues and for an organization that's straight out of Blazing Saddles, then maybe the issue is with Melo's decision making.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk He didn't need to. LBJ went to a place on his first chance to leave that had what he needed.  Once again, b-ball IQ.

No one put a gun to Melo's head to force his way here so that we gave away option that could have helped him if he just had came on his own during the offseason.

Yeah I know, he didn't want to chance losing a little of his money due to the CBA.

So now that he is here, he should be making the most of it and doing what is needed because if he wins here, he's King. Knowing that, I have Woody out on his Potatohead and not ruin my chance to win here.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk  Melo should be witht he FO making demands on what he needs.  Maybe we can't win a ring this year but he surely could have gotten Woody out of here sooner and maybe savaged this season.

Then he should have demanded a a PG and Big man or whatever he thinks he needs. He's our leader and he can't distance himself from that role especially when no one else is there to assume it.

If this issue is Melo don't have everything and Melo will not opt to assist in getting that in which he needs, then we are doomed.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@zdiddy4nyk Who cares about that if Melo wins?  NY wants a winner and we could care less about Woody. It's not Woody has given us something special other than losing and one 54 win regular season.

If Melo is afraid of this and NY is difficult to win then why should be rebuild around him?
