The Knicks (2-4) tied the game midway through the 4th quarter after being down by 18 points with 3:34 left in the 3rd, but they ultimately fell to the Bucks (1-5) by the score of 105-95.
The Least You Should Know
Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 16 points in 33 minutes on the floor. He was 6-for-13 from the floor, but 3-for-9 from downtown.
Cole Aldrich played 14 minutes, had 8 rebounds, and was a +20 on the floor. Ike Diogu only played in the last minute.
Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, and Mike Woodson were each called for technical fouls throughout the course of the game.
Amit BadlaniDespite nearly nabbing a triple-double, this was not a good shooting performace from Carmelo Anthony. He simply could not get that rhythm we usually see from him. But it was good to see that he was able to realize that and dish out 7 assists,
Tyson Chandler and Andrea Bargnani split time as center with the expected rotational players, but they were only able to grab five combined rebounds. It shouldn’t be overlooked that Melo had 9 boards and Shump had 7, but if the Knicks want to compete with the top teams in the Eastern Conference, the bigs need to dominate the glass.
It was surprising to see Ike Diogu ride the bench until the last minute considering the pre-season he’s had, especially because there was no indication from Mike Woodson before the game that he would be resting. Cole Aldrich took advantage of his minutes off the bench, so if the Knicks elect to use the last spot on the roster on a big (if at all), the competition could go down to Friday.
This preseason must be so frustrating for Mike Woodson. The injuries to Stoudemire and Smith combined with the little injuries to Prigioni and Felton will leave him to solidifying the rotations to the last today.
And on a very light note, Steve Novak must be kicking himself that he’s not a Knick anymore. Aaron Rodgers was sitting courtside.
