Final Score: Knicks 107 Kings 99

The Knicks (30-42) defeated the Kings (24-45) by a score of 107-99 Wednesday evening at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

After leading by as many as 24, the Knicks had just a two-point lead in the final minutes of the game, as the Kings outshot New York 27-21 in the fourth quarter.

J.R. Smith tied a franchise record for 3-pointers after he scored his ninth during the fourth quarter. Smith had a total of 29 points during the game — the second most on the team.

Carmelo Anthony led the team with 36 points, which is the most he has scored in a single game this month.

One day after the Knicks shot 26.7 percent from the 3-point line, the team hit 58 percent of its attempts against Sacramento.

With the win, the Knicks are now just two games out of eighth place and the final playoff spot.

i hate to love the Knicks , if we even squeak in the playoffs i wouldn't even honor it

we could be tied for the 8th spot tonight but no we wanna lose the games we're suppose to win

so we're suppose to lose friday

which means we'll probably win

as much as i see us not making the playoffs we're still right there lol

This could be a whole lot more interesting if they didn't have that awful loss to Cle as they'd be just 1 game back.

In 2015 if the Knicks cant get Love or Aldridge I think they should go after Big Al who will be available in 2015

Suns have won 7 of 8, and have two great PG's. The Knicks can't even stop awful PG's Friday seems to be one of those chalked up in the Loss column

"Looks like JR Smith is having one of those nights"

"Prigioni has an awful shot

REPLY He's only been in the league a couple years.

Let his game mature a little bit more.

REPLY He'll really be something when he's 45."

"You haven't seen ugly 'til the Knicks starting showing us their F-game."

"We just keep letting JR and Melo T up 3's. GET IN THERE FACE. Make them drive on you because they arn't missing the long ball."

"This Knick's D is as putrid as the cheese in Felton's neck rolls."

"Please stop making shots Melo and Smith"

"I don't think I could be that close to Raymond Felton and not throw up.

Anybody with that many consumption of Twinkies has to smell."

"Carmelo is Carmelo.

Honestly, with the shots the Knicks are taking, I’m not even that mad. Awful shots"

@ponzies86 He's not a championship center.  I'd rather not commit that money to him.

@Kenny Kaufman im not too sure about that ...Jackson is the only real backup OKC has to the more frequently injured westbrook .

Pheonix is not giving up Dragic but Reggie Jackson is doable and that kid can play!

OKC makes slot of sense. They wanted him a few years back but didn't pull the trigger and then he went to Dallas and beat them in the WCF. They were concerned about his health but with only a year left on his contract they might be willing to take the gamble plus Perkins really sucks.

@Kenny Kaufman

Guys who play defense and protect the paint and rim.

Noah.  Dwight.  Hibbert.  Tyson when he's playing well.  Deandre.  Gasol.

If you're going to pay big for a center you need one of them.
