Final Score: Knicks 92 Jazz 83

The Knicks (32-43) beat the Utah Jazz (23-52) by a score of 92-83 Monday night at EnergySolutions Arena.

Monday’s win marked just the second time this season that the Knicks came back to win after being behind after the first half. The Jazz held a 49-48 lead over New York at the midway point.

The Knicks gained a lead that they would not give up after a 12-2 run toward the end of the third quarter. New York outscored the Jazz 31-20 in the third.

Carmelo Anthony led the team with 34 points and had the second most rebounds on the team with eight in 39:19 on the court.

Tyson Chandler had nine rebounds, marking not only the most on the team, but the most he’s had in a single game since March 21 when he registered 10.

With the win — and the Philadelphia 76ers loss — the Knicks remain one game back of the 8th place Atlanta Hawks.

The Knicks will take Tuesday off before taking on the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Nice to have a back to back win on the road, lets go Knicks..lets make the playoff..ihiyyy~~

Have been following this blog for almost 4 years, but I just read the blog and the comment, rarely to make comment, but i know there is some smart people on this site, people like Oldknicks, Sandro, XMen, Chris, Brookdon, Field_Fanatic/Knicks_Fanatic, Biggie (don't know if is still the same person that I know when I first time reading this blog), HAS (Best Sarcasm knicks fans) and these people is the reason I reading this blog.

We all know this season, is not going on the right direction but honestly I can't see the knicks will tanking a season just to build from the draft, Yes I like this idea Sandro, but like all we know, we are the knicks, the team who had the most expensive ticket on the NBA, and people will not spend their money just to see the knicks tanking (not good for Dolan Bussiness).

I believe the knicks will keep Melo, like or not, he is our superstar, if he leave, who do you want to replace? except LA or LeBron, I don't want any superstar Love? he doesn't know defense, Marc Gasol? His legs concern me, Durant? do you think he will leave OKC?

If any of you have a thought even without Melo, that just Phil Jack will lure FA go to knicks, sorry to say I think all of you will be disappoint. PhilJax is good as a coach? YES! but he is new guy on the front office just like Jordan as an team owner and we don't know yet what will he do with the knicks and as a knicks fan I hope he do his best to bring championship to the knicks.

and now about Bargnani trade and Felton, I hate it, the bargnani trade is bad, but I want view it on the positive way, at least this trade clear some caps for us on the next year, and with philjax on our side, we can go allout to hunt the best available FA. for Felton, I remember some guy say "at this price and without any cash that we have, he is the best that all we can get", I don't know how cheap felton is, but if he really cheap, my question is at his price, who is better than felton that we can get?

I love how felton play at the first time he came to Knicks, and yesterday, I watch knicks game at the warrior, and yes now he is bad.

and last JR and Woodson, like felton situation, without any capspace and looking at the last season he play with us (6th MOTY) I think he is the best that we can get, and I don't know if people think that a bad move, because at that time, do we have any option?

and woodson, now all is clear, the last season team is run by the veteran, Kidd, Camby, Kurt, Rasheed who make all the player keep their focus, and now, if somehow we make the playoff, and woody can make we go to ECF, will we keep woody?

as A knicks fan, for me is just wrong for rooting lost for the knicks, even with lost that can make woody leave the team, but for me is just wrong..but once again I said for people like Sandro and Xmen who always say we suck and sometime they rooting knicks to lose i respect them, because they do that for a good purpose..

and sorry for my bad english..

Woodson, asked about the team's 3-2 mark during the West Coast trip: "Cant get much better than that."

Well, technically there's 4-1 and 5-0...but 3-2 is solid, indeed.  I think above .500 the rest of the way can get Knicks into the playoffs.

I know everyone is all high on our Knicks tonight. But, why couldn't we have just beaten ATL a month ago? They were in the middle of their terrible losing streak. It was a gimme game. Had we won, we would be in the eighth seed right now. One game.

If only we could play teams that are tanking, (like tonight) from here on out.... Hopefully the teams that are locked into the playoffs, rest their starters when we face them!

Hawks go 3-6, Knicks must go 4-3 to get 8th seed, looking at the Knicks schedule 4 wins will be tough and that's if Hawks go 3-6

Who owns the tiebreaker if we end up knotted with the Hawks?

Jazz Blog Highlights!!!!

"Knicks are pushing for the 8th seed. They absolutely do not want to lose to another cellar dwelling team. Considering that, I think they have this game."

"I'd love to blame the NBA for big market bias with the refs whistling Favors twice already

but both were clear fouls :( That ruins my conspiracy"

"Walt Frazier is a basketball god. I met him once when the Knicks visited town, and he was one of the nicest legends I've ever met"

"anthony one of those great players who just doesnt make anyone better"

"felton working his way into game shape

72 games into the season"

"Chandler gets away with SO MUCH CONTACT"

"thats what reputation gets you

Hibbert can commit 30 fouls a game and get called for 4"

Any word on THjr?  That did not look good.  He would be a massive loss for this final push.

I would really love to see the Knicks made it to the playoffs but with current schedule of the Knicks and Hawks, I'm just hoping we show up everyday.. no more games like how we played in LA and Phoenix.. 7 games remaining all against +.500 teams vs 9 games and 6 against -.500 teams..

Woodson stubborness contributed to THjr probably missing the rest of the season ............

..

..thank god this idiot of a coach is gone soon !

And the Lakers. And the Bucks. We lost so many gimme games.

@OLDKNICK  I put my faith on philjax too,

hope the knicks is getting better on the future

tommy2b

@OLDKNICK  As much as they want to rest guys for the playoffs you can bet the Nets, Proky and Kidd are licking their chops at a chance to eliminate the Knicks.

tommy2b
tommy2b

@Biggie  True all these playoff teams will be resting guys with nagging injuries.  Lowry reinjured himself vs the Heat.  Miami's going to want to rest their big 3 as much as possible, and the Nets have a lot of senior citizens who could use a rest going into the playoffs.

tommy2b

Right now Hawks are 22-21 vs. Conference and Knicks are 21-24, which is a 2 game difference.  All of the games remaining for both teams are vs. conference so if the Knicks beat the Hawks by 1 game the rest of the way (and tie them in the standings) the Hawks are guaranteed to win the tiebreaker.

tommy2b
tommy2b

@Seth Nadler  Hawks are likely to go 2-7 IMO... but even 3 wins will be a challenge for these Knicks.

@bigdishings. I believe Hawks because they have a better conference record... We have some coming up tho!

@brookdon  Always love to read this from you my friend, even the jazz fan know we pushing for the playoff..I just hope we go to the playoff, because if not, next year we don't have any first round draft...and that just not good situation for us

@Jesus Blas We need to win one more than them.

They have 9 tries, 6 at home, 3 against tankers, we have 7 tries all against playoff teams.  At first glance it looks hopeless.  But we're playing our best ball of the season, Atlanta is playing poorly.  If they go 3-6, we "only" need to go 4-3 - it's like a playoff series, we need to win 4.

I'm a bit worried that Louis Williams is starting to come on, he might be enough to push them to a couple more wins, which would ruin us.  We need to win the next 2, then maybe we can win 5

That's as hopeful as I can be.  Although the @Raptors win is definitely a stretch, and the bulls game feels iffy too.

I think there were only 10 players in uniform tonight though...and a seemingly random injury.  Can't put this on Woody

@tommy2b So we have 5 guaranteed losses and 2 maybes?  Have you considered therapy for your depression?

I don 't see them losing twice to the Nets . Probably a split there. And they actually beat Chicago at home earlier this season, so that game may be more winnable than people suspect.

1harris1
1harris1

Definitely . I actually think we'll do better in April than people expect. Other than the Heat, none of the teams the Knicks pllay are great (good yes, elite no). Problem is those 3 games for the Hawks against panzies Celts, Pistons and Bucks. I can't see them losing any of those games if they need them.
