The Knicks lost to the Raptors tonight by a score of 100-91.
Carmelo Anthony put up numbers that more resemble the regular season than game two of the pre-season. He scored 24 points on 9 of 17 from the field and added eight rebounds to the the stat sheet.
The Knicks once again blew a huge lead but were unable to secure the win as they did against the Celtics on Wednesday.
The team shot just 5/31 from 3-point range for the game.
Harris DeckerThis was a game that was very competitive most of the way. The starters each saw their minutes increase with several playing over 20 minutes including Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani and Iman Shumpert. Anthony really shined tonight showing why he is the defending scoring champion and playing some fantastic defense.
Metta World-Peace was really impressive tonight hitting some key shots from behind the arc and contributing six rebounds. World-Peace has flown under the radar this offseason. With Bargnani being the key addition, World-Peace could has added a clear scoring option to backup Anthony at small forward. His development as a role player is really starting to show.
Despite attempting two shots from the behind the arc, Bargnani failed to convert a shot from long range. This is a key aspect to his game and one that we need to see more of as we get closer to October 30th.
It should be noted that Mike Woodson said after the game that he plans to rest many of his regulars tomorrow including Anthony, with guys like Hardaway Jr. shifting over to small forward.
The Knicks continue the pre-season tomorrow night, taking on the Boston Celtics in New Hampshire.
