Final: Warriors 126 Knicks 103

The Knicks fell to the Warriors, 126-103, their fifth consecutive loss.

The Least You Should Know

This game was ugly from the very first quarter. The Knicks allowed the Warriors to score at will, giving up 73 first half points, a season high for Golden State. The team left the court at the half with boos raining down in Madison Square Garden.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both scored 25+, combining for 10 3’s. Curry had his 4th career triple-double.

Carmelo Anthony did what Carmelo Anthony does. He scored 23 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and out hustled the entire Knicks team.

Tim Hardaway Jr. was the other notable scorer for the Knicks. He scored 22 points on 6 of 11.

Tyson Chandler was ejected late in the game after getting into it repeatedly with Marreese Speights.

Toure’ Murry played 23+ minutes, the 2nd most he’s played this year. In that time, he scored 8 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. He also turned the ball over 3 times.

lets see how they feel on home game 30, when they are sitting on the LIRR with the rest of us to get to the game.

I'm glad the players & management approve of the 1st class facilities(tongue in cheek) NOW is the time for longtime suffering Isles fans to get a 1st class season.....ie anything past a 1st round exit.

After seeing Ho-Sang tonight, it's pretty clear that he is going to be a fun player to watch develop.

@Mike T. Yes they are going to be fun to watch 6 years from now.

How about that kid. BARZAL. WOW!!!!!!!

@vegasvic Good point Vic.  That is what some people who were angry at making these picks (over trading for something now) need to understand.  These guys like Dal Colle, Ho Sang, Barzal etc are going to be the guys that replace guys like Grabner, Bailey (who I like), Grabo etc.  Heck - Beauvillier has a higher ceiling, but could end up being a better version of Cizikas in 3 or 4 years (not saying he needs to go).

I truly think this team is going to turn into a powerhouse very soon.  Yes, I think they need to add some pieces - and some of these talented prospects could end up being used for just that.

Oh great, more idiotic nonsensical Knick posts that are over a year old.

@jethrono9  Yep that's why the NBAs so popular. Basketball sucks imo & always will. Talk about a lazy sport.

Someone please fix the comments section, slackers. Just kidding.  Great vibe at the Blue-White Scrimmage tonight.  Going to be a HUGE first year in Brooklyn.  Promise.

Mr . Dolan if you care about Melo in the future.... you better get Woody out because he is burning that man out and he's gonna get hurt in this meaningless season, but i know your not bright enough for that!

Brostoevsky

Unbelievable that Woodson is still employed. This one was unwatchable so I left during the third quarter, but a few observations I didn't see in the news this AM:

1) Anthony was visibly injured in the second quarter. No idea how it happened, but he was wringing his right hand and wincing for the rest of the game. I forget if that's the same arm he hurt last year, but that's what I worry about. Amazing that Woody kept him in down 25 points. This is one among many reasons coach needs to be fired - he's playing guys 40 minutes in a futile attempt to save his job and this is the risk. We can ill-afford to get our best player hurt in games we have zero chance of winning

2) got a weird vibe from Woody. He is usually barking orders and more engaged with players during games - even when down big. Tonight he just stood motionless toward scorer's table and almost silent the duration

3) Chandler had a horrible, horrible game. With a former DPOY hailed as a defensive anchor, it is amazing how nonexistent help defense is. If a guard dribble-drives past his man (easy, since that is usually Felton, Prigs, etc), he's virtually guaranteed to score because no one steps up to block. Isn't that what Chandler's here for? If we aren't getting that we can get his rebounds from a cheaper alternative. I wanted him traded after last year's debacle in Indiana, and that should have happened then because his trade value has diminished this season

4) mark Jackson is a favorite as a St Johns and Knicks fan, and I hope he has a long coaching career. That said, I question sportsmanship a little insofar as they were running up the score launching threes for longer than they probably needed to. Debatable but I thought that was borderline and made me yearn from the days when Charles Oakley would take your best player out of the game (Curry) if you did that here

Woodson should have been fired mid-first quarter. I seriously was waiting for MSG security to come escort him off of the premises.

Can anyone name the other superstars Stephen Curry is playing with on the Warriors?

1. Coaching and poor decision making on the sidelines and on the floor is major reason why we are losing games like we do.  The ball rarely moves on offense.  There were so many times where one person would dribble the ball up and take the 3 without ever passing the ball.

2. Defense is non existent.

Put those two things together and you have a total mess of a team.  There is no leadership on the sidelines and on the floor period.

Anyone who even thinks about rooting for the Nets is not a true Knick fan. I would suffer through 50 losing seasons before I deserted my team and jumped on the Nets bandwagon.

Jean Marc
Jean Marc

@Ryan Carr  Agree .. but how do we teach Dolan a lesson?

I would have fired Woodson after the Milwaukee loss when we had a shot at the playoffs.Dolan simply refused to do the right thing, rubbing malarkey on our faces. Every minute this asinine coach is the captain of our beloved Knicks is an abomination !

What a disgrace. Dolan has to be absolutely ashamed of himself. The warriors would have had better competition in the streets of manhattan. Fire this clown.

Dear dagawd. Please share what ur smoking with me.... Or is it drinking? The Knicks owner sucks, the GM, if u wanna call him that, sucks..... The coach, if u wanna call him that, sucks!!!!! It's funny how people in here talk about the Nets owner in a bad way.....people, if he was our owner, he woulda been bought out Stat, and we would have a real GM, instead of a stand in....... Say what u want, the Russian is a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better owner than guitar Shimmy

Dear Knick Fans...

Time to face reality...Its Over for the Knicks for a whole lot of reasons.   However, there is still a good basketball team in playoff contention that plays in New York City.  As you decide which alternate teams to root for when (or if) you watch the postseason this year should the Knicks not make it..... Consider supporting Brooklyn. No guarantee we'll win a chip...but at least we're in the mix for this year....

Think about it!

The Nets suck too. Don't kid yourself. You are on a new losing ride. You think that team is in the mix? Mix for what? 5th seed. Nets will get swept by either Miami or Indiana. Probably lose to Toronto, Washington as well. Knicks are a miserable disaster, but the Nets one yr window is closed. So if you want to come on here and say, I told you people, the Knicks are a garbage franchise, go for it. Don't talk about the Nets being in the mix.

Knicks are too respectful to other teams, they need to finally be the bad boys and demand respect

and scare the league

if we're gonna always be the laughing stock

let's show them who get's the last laugh.

but Chicago got him

we have no players like Joakim

@KnickelusKnickleby  Gibson and Noah are NYC kids playing for former NY assistant Thibs...whaddaya know.  Stings watching teams like Indy and Chicago play with the grit and grind mentality we used to love from our '90s Knicks squads...this team is so SOFT (but that doesn't stop them from puffin out their chests and talking big).
