Game 22: Knicks @ Celtics, 7:30pm

Knicks at Celtics

At 7:30pm, the New York Knicks (6-15) visit the Boston Celtics (10-14) at the Boston TD Garden.

The Knicks will look to take some revenge after they got whooped by the Celtics this past Sunday by 41 points. They also look for their second set of back-to-back wins this season  after a victory against the Bulls on Wednesday.

The Knicks will start Pablo Prigioni, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin, and Andrea Bargnani.

The Celtics are coming off a loss to the Clippers and their former coach, Doc Rivers. Their starting lineup has not been officially announced yet, but it should be Jordan Crawford, Avery Bradley, Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, and Jared Sullinger. According to Mark D’Amico, Kris Jenner Humphries is out and Kelly Olynyk will come off the bench after being out the last 10 games with an ankle injury.

Presenting your New York Knickerbockers (in no particular order-except for Melo-boy had to be first and foremost):

Iman Grumpert - "I aint playin cause I'm mad. Knegas wanna trade me. I hate Woody. Melo won't take up for me. I only get paid $1,703,760.00 a year to play a game."

AmaKnee Not Enough Stats To Admire - "Man if it wasn't for my daggone knees, I could score 50 and never kick the ball out to anybody."

Andrea Garbarge Yani - "Sometimes I play good. Sometimes I play bad. They won't tell me where the weight room is so I don't go."

Fat Uncle Raymond - "Man food is good. Exspecially them there McDonalds burgers. I aint got time to work out. A man gotta eat don't he? Ow, my hammy."

Metta Gotta Stay Calm Peace - "I'm sore but I'm ready to do my awkward moves and play my awkward defense any time coach needs me. I hate that man."

JR & Shump HATE Woody. They want him out and they are doing eveything they can to get that accomplished.

41 minutes for Melo, 36 minutes for a 37 year old PG, love affair with JR, etc, etc, etc...

Woody must go! We do, however, need a top tier coach to replace him, or get lucky with the next unproven Auerbach...

If Woodson wants to have JR be a play maker then play him at PG, switch it up do something.

this team has already reached its climax especially with these players and at thier age ...they need a quick change..

Here's where Ujiri brings the hammer down.

JR Smith just said that he was looking for his team mates and that his job is to make people better and find them for the open shot and he was sacrificing his shots to get others going.  He then says, maybe it's the wrong way or the right way, I don't know... I'm just trying to figure it out.

WE ARE EFFING DOOMED!

Melo needs an all star point guard, period.   This team needs a floor general to run this offense.  Some one who has the guts to look off Melo and keep the offense running like any normal offense should run.   Any other rumored move is irrelevant.

Just go w/ the trade. I just don't care anymore. Keep THJR though.

What ownership and the front office doesn't realize is that the Celtics have their future ahead of the with the draft picks they've accumulated.  The Knicks on the other hand have traded most of their chances at the future away up til 2018.  And they're looking to trade that away too - not willing to face it probably will be a high lottery pick as long as Dolan sits on his throne with his head up his arse.

I know we are going to get Lowry now.   Obvious knee jerk reaction coming up folks,  say good bye to a first round pick for a 6 month rental.

Francesco Monastra
Francesco Monastra

knicks should look into signing Darious Morris who an excellent defender, or Troy Daniels who can light it up shooting, or Kendall Marshall who a great floor general (cut Chris Smith)

and then cut Beno and bring in a big if Kenyon is out

Woodson has no clue.

BTW, I am starting to question the defensive acumen of Shump as well.  He got beat backdoor 2X by wallace tonight.

JR needs to go smoke blunt after this game and get suspended again and Woodson needs to take a couple of tokes too

ek77

Gosh was our floor spacing bad down the stretch.  I still don't understand why our team freezes up in crunch time and just doesnt move.

Francesco Monastra
Francesco Monastra

Barg missed Stat going to the going towards the hoop twice, once very open, both times we ended up not scoring and Boston scored on other end

probably would have been a dif game

Man, how are any of these teams in contention to win an NBA division.  Pretty sad display tonight.

Pretty disgusted with this loss tonight.  Worst thing, all of the times we wait till 7-8 seconds to get into any type of offense, we did this constantly down the stretch.    I just dont get it.

This is on the guards. This is on the coach for his usage of the guards. Cole played 1 minute, Murry DNP and our guards killed us, and he doesn`t play him. Every time Beno hits the floor, we hit the skids. Why JR, his boy when he can`t score? His defense was poor down the stretch he missed 3 straight assignments and stays on the floor. Woodsen must go

NYKnickerBocker
NYKnickerBocker

For a team deemed "heavy" in the guard position.  We are rather light in that position.

Again did our SG suck yes, but the knicks were up 11 with the same awful SG, they were running P and R without a stop, then they go away from it, to me, maybe I'm wrong, but I see Melo demanding the ball, taking the ball up, with Pablo not handling which gave us the lead. Again it's two problems, the coach and Melo being selfish and not trust his teammates. I'd rather have seen anyone other than Melo shoot the ball, Amare zero touches, Bargs 1 shot he made, Jr zero shots, Melo 6 contested misses..

THJ should be getting all of those open looks from Melo being double. Jr is a joke.

@bkinghof No coach worth his salt is going to come here without the power to implement a plan of his own, and they won't get that as long as Dolan is the owner.

@OLD_KNICK Shump and JR look like wounded ducks. They're playing at about 50%. Until these guys get their athleticism back, we're going to struggle. Hardaway is still too green to be a true impact maker.

JerseyFan1

I mention that b4>>no true PG'S. Woody MUST get Murry in these games OR he will never develop.

rgm891

Old knick man. We are doomed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jimmybx

@Kiyan Carter Bargs and Amare need a pg to set them up. Pablo couldn't do anything with the defense being played on him.

jimmybx
jimmybx

@ek77 Melo needs someone who can beat their man 1 on 1 on offense to help him out. Last year, he had JR draining huge shots. This year, nobody is helping him out.

tommy2b

@OLD_KNICK At least the nets lost.  Should give Dolan a touch of breathing room with his corporate sponsor buddies.

I believe the knicks have their 2015 1st round pick

Tikki

@Francesco Monastra Bargs was too busy looking for Melo on the wing.  Didn't even glance towards the basket.

ek77
ek77

@OLD_KNICK Shump hasnt developed.   Expectations for him are too high.  He should've been developed to be a Bruce Bowen, all out defender who can hit a spot up 3...  I remember him getting comparisons to D Wade to Sprewell.  Jeez.

MOSTHATED1

@Seth Nadler boston did take away the pick and roll they stated to double  the pg and let the pick man just roll...still no excuse for mello to start iso..ing

orlando_knickfan
orlando_knickfan

@Seth Nadler Melo played 45 minutes.  Let me see you go out there and play 45 minutes of high level bball and expect to be there at the end.  Bargs shot 5/21 as well.  Maybe BOS took away the PnR, I don't know, but we lost because our guards suck.

miracle33d
miracle33d

@Seth NadlerOnly because NBA rules prohibits them trading picks in consecutive years because of the "Ted Stepien" rule.  If they could the front office would find a way around the rule even though it might be there to protect them against themselves.  LOL

Seth Nadler
Seth Nadler

Again you can argue all you want, fine he played 45 minutes which is ridiculous which is on the coach, no question, BUT if he's playing that many minutes than why is the coach and Melo demanding the ball then?

Seth Nadler
Seth Nadler

How do we know if they took it away if the knicks stopped using it?

tommy2b
tommy2b

He's playing scared.  He knows he can't be blamed if he gets the ball to Melo

orlando_knickfan
orlando_knickfan

@Seth Nadler Lemme get this straight, you want the star player to turn down the ball because of fatigue?  I can always tell that you have never played a decent game of ball in your life.

purehussle

Shumpert in 2 yrs will be a better offensive player. Lowery could be gone at the end of the season.
