The New York Knicks play host to the Memphis Grizzlies for a Saturday showdown at noon ET.
The Knicks (8-17) are coming off a double-overtime victory against the Milwaukee Bucks and have now won two of their past four games. Tyson Chandler has returned to man the middle of the defense, and in his first appearance in 20 games the Knicks’ center went 9-9, a welcomed stat line for the NBA’s 29th-ranked team in terms of rebounding.
Playing a major role in the Knicks’ win was Beno Udrih, who started in place of the injured Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni. The veteran point guard contributed 21 points, five assists and four boards.
The Grizzlies (10-15) have taken a step back from the 2012-13 season in which they advanced to the Western Conference Finals. Memphis has dropped five in a row, largely due to their offensive deficiencies without center Marc Gasol in the lineup. The Grizzlies’ offense is ranked 26th in the NBA, averaging fewer than 94 points per game.
Projected starters (NYK): Beno Udrih, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler
Projected starters (MEM): Jerryd Bayless, Tony Allen, Tayshaun Prince, Zach Randoph, Kosta Koufos
