The Thunder and Knicks tipoff their Christmas Day showdown at Madison Square Garden at 2:30 p.m. in a matchup between the Western Conference favorite and a New York squad that has played .500 basketball over its past six games.
Injuries will certainly be a factor in this game, as Carmelo Anthony is listed as a game-time decision after spraining his left ankle against the Magic Monday. Raymond Felton, who returned to the lineup after missing four games with a strained groin, aggravated the injury and will not play against the Thunder.
Kenyon Martin, who has been sidelined Dec. 13 with a strained abdominal muscle, is expected to be available.
Last season the Knicks and Thunder exchanged wins on their home courts. New York defeated the Thunder in Oklahoma City, Okla. but lost to them a month earlier at Madison Square Garden. Anthony and Kevin Durant averaged 36 and 35 points per game, respectively, in head-to-head contests last year.
Projected lineup (NYK): Beno Udrih, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani, Tyson Chandler
Projected lineup (OKC): Russell Westbrook, Thabo Sefolosha, Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, Kendrick Perkins
