Game 31: Knicks @ Spurs, 8:30 p.m.

Screen Shot 2014-01-02 at 10.14.09 AM

Tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET, the Knicks (9-21) travel to AT&T Center to take on the Spurs (25-7).

The Knicks have dropped three in a row, including a Christmas Day defeat compliments of Oklahoma City and back-to-back losses in a home-and-away to Toronto. Overall, New York is winless (0-9) against Western Conference teams.

Conversely, San Antonio is riding a three-game win streak into Thursday’s game after knocking off another New York team — the Brooklyn Nets — on New Year’s Eve, 113-92.

Carmelo Anthony is expected to return to the lineup after missing the past three games due to an ankle injury. Anthony has led the team in scoring in every game he has played in this season and ranks third in the league in that statistic. Against the Spurs on Nov. 10 Anthony recorded a season-low 16 points.

Pablo Prigioni is also expected to be available against the Spurs, but Raymond Felton is doubtful for the game with a groin injury.

Projected Starters (NYK): Beno Udrih, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani, Tyson Chandler

Projected Starters (SA): Tony Parker, Marco Belinelli, Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan, Tiago Splitter

Ty played 22 mins with Dwight Howard up tomorrow, for all those b1tching about the rotations .... he will be ready to go tomorrow.  I don't like Woody either, but you can't play some of these dudes 40 mins every night.

Let's see if Woody starts Shump guarding Lin, him getting after it defensively gets him going offensively

Win or lose you can count on plenty of sniping at each other on TKB

Well that was unexpected lol.

Good win but it means nothing if they don't string more wins together. I will feel better about this team if they steal another win in Houston tomorrow night.

Finally a win that feels like a win.  Let's not deny that this was a quality win against a quality team.  Sure, it's one game.  But eff that.  Take this for what is was.  As a Knicks fan I'm enjoying this solid effort and win.  San Antonio was not giving us this game.  Knicks took it.

I haven't enjoyed a win like this in a long time.  Great way to start 2014.

Good win. Non of us gotta believe in Shump but if he and his teammates believe in his abilities he could be the difference.

@Kiyan Carter Informed criticism is okay, but some folks here seem sad that the Knicks won an exciting game. I got what I wanted at the beginning of the thread: An exciting game where the Knicks played to win. Now, the only important game is the next game.

@Sandro Guedes @NYKnickerBocker It's called Good D. Shump did a great job on Parker, Murry did too. SA didn't have many opportunities in the paint because of solid D and non stop 3 pt shooting.

JR did a pretty decent job on Manu, limiting his production, so he opted to bemore of a playmaker (I'd hardly call 11 pts, 12 assists, and 2 steals a bad game).

Appreciate a good W instead of nitpicking. You already got payed tonight.

@Sandro Guedes@xmenreturn@NYKnickerBockerCome on man, you got your devil money so stop giving us a backhanded compliment.

Shump played both sides of the floor tonite and I'm sure the pregame walk thru had the Knicks folding by the 2nd qtr.

@xmenreturn @VerySilentJay @BiggieSmalls Amen to that. We're in complete agreement. This is something I always ask for, just put in the work, leave the court with your head held high. and the results will ultimately speak for themselves.
