Game 32: Knicks @ Houston Rockets, 8pm

Knicks at Spurs

Tonight at 8pm, the Knicks (10-21) take on the Rockets (21-13) in Houston.

The last time they played, the Knicks lost a heartbreaker. Carmelo Anthony scored 45 points and 10 rebounds, but his game-tying three pointer with 5 seconds remaining wasn’t counted because referees ruled that he was fouled before the shot.

Tonight, the Knicks will start Beno Udrih, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani, and Tyson Chandler.

Former Knicks Jeremy Lin will start for the Rockets since Patrick Beverley is out with an injury.

if the knicks were 22-10 after tonight id say it was a great effort on a back to back, and glad they entertained. Instead its 10-22, the dumbest team in the league appears, its another loss, and unlike last year, last night felt like a turning point, tonight's loss gets me thinking another 8 game lossing streak will follow and the 10-30 record i predicted will come true. doesnt it suck as knicks fans we didnt even get 24 hours to enjoy the spurs win, instead in less than 24 hours its back to misery.

I'm not gonna sit here and defend Beno, because he's an awful defender, turnover prone, has questionable deicsion making, among many things.

But... the dude's a 3rd string PG. That's what he was brough to NY for. Heavy minutes and a heavy dose of responsity wasn't part of the job description. He's been forced into this position due to injury and struggles of other players

Yes, him, JR, and Woodson lost the game for us, no doubt about it. But he should not have been out there in first place. Today, he was his usual self and actually (danced around Lin, btw), assumed more responsibility toward the end, responsibility he should never have.

Should have been a W. Terrible way to lose.

this is a lost season so far, knicks are inventing new ways to blow games, this is a joke jr smith should not be allowed to take another 3 the rest of the season. jr smith is a burnout weedhead and has zero brain cells left to take that shot.

If Dolan really cares so much about winning as some say, then JR is the curse that he deserves...

I want JR off this team ASAP. Let the young guys develop. No reason for this guy to be on team.

at this point jr cant be trusted at end of games, i dont want to see this guy in clutch situation ever again. he is 3-12 and shoots a 3pt shot.. why? why settle instead of driving for a layup.

When either Ray or Prigs comes back. Hardaway needs to supplant JR on the depth chart.  We should never have kept this guy.

JR Smith need to give the Ganja a rest man. That a purely mental mistake. One of the worst I've seen.

Rockets aint wanna lose so they rode with Brooks the whole 4th Qtr lol

but on us JR Smith really really shouldn't close out games his IQ isn't right, idk if its weed but his offense and defensive judgements are lacking.

I hate JR Smith! I detest that n---a like a sickness!!!

He is absolute trash. The funny thing is that he will be on twitter or instagram about 20 minutes from now shucking and jiving like everything is cool.

last year jr's shot falls and we laugh it off

The reason Mchale sat lin is because he is a liability in the 4th, too many errors. Its the same reason jr should be sitting in that situation.

I can't blame Woody tonight.  You simply CANNOT coach stupid.  At this point, Bargs and JR HAVE to be moved and I don't care for what.  These two guys are so stupid that they are killing this team.

JR, Bargs and Beno NBA All Dunce team

Truth is, these last two games have been much better.  JR ala Bargnani another boneheaded shot.

@Jerry Gee What about the rest of the taem? JR can get to the basket, Shumpert as well, yet none did this. Why? Because teh coach has no recognition and forgot to exploit a team in early foul trouble.

Team sport there, champ. You follwo your coach's instructions.

@Elvis MaduroYep I don't like what woody is saying conference.  Although if JR had made the shot, sure it would have been nice but as a coach, that's an opportunity to get across to your team about being intelligent and knowing the game situation.

He basically let JR off the hook

I don't see the correlation. JR was open because of the scramble after the offensive rebound. That had nothing to do with Woodson.

@Seth Nadler even if he makes it, it gives the other team a chance to tie or win.

@orlando_knickfan A smart and savvy coach knows how to coach the managing late game situations. Understands what to transmit to his players in every possible circumstance of the game.

In other words, it's his job to ensure ther players know exactly what to do according to the circumstances. When to reset, when to use the extra foul, when to attack and draw contact when the opposing team is in foul trouble early in the qtr, when to hold the ball and look for a good shot, when to control the clock or push.

If you transmit this well enough, your players will handle themsevles in a much better fashion.

@Elvis Maduro yea the guy is coke addict and was in san antonio that why he was kicked off the team. he is garbage.

What y'all expect him to say. He rarely ever puts the blame on his players. I agree Woodson hasn't been the best this season but tonight's game the players are more to blame.

He didn't need to foul at the end of the game. A week ago he did need to foul at the end of the game. Beno cam score but it!s obvious he's not a wiley vet. He should be sitting with JR and Bargs at the end of games.

I like Woodson but i fire him for playing JR Spliff extended minutes.

@Jerry Gee @VerySilentJay I agree that as the team's best player, you're under a different type of scrutiny, and you gotta step up and rise, even if you fo out of script.

But if there's no script to begin with.... Everyone's in deep ish...

@orlando_knickfan@xmenreturnI would have liked for Woody to have told his team that Shump has the hot hand and to look for him.

Time and time gain, our team never feed the hot hand. That's totally mental that the coach has to get across.
