Another day, another game and another chance for the Knicks to pad their record.
Tonight the Detroit Pistons are the opponent and although things have changed for them, this is still basically the same team the Knicks have beaten by 21 and 15 this year.
Last week, the Pistons were apart of the Rudy Gay three team trade where the last member left from the 2004 championship team, Tayshaun Prince and first round bust Austin Daye were shipped out to Memphis and Jose Calderon was brought in from Toronto.
Calderon, who has had some pretty good games against the Knicks when he was with the Raptors, had some work visa trouble, but will be available tonight.
The Pistons are a rebuilding team, but I think they are on the right track. After trading away Prince, the Pistons front office is clearly giving this team to Greg Monroe to help them get back to the glory that was the mid-2000′s.
The Knicks though should honestly have no trouble beating them again. The offense once again was clicking and the bench play was out of this world. The bench scored 82 points while the entire Kings team on Saturday scored 81. You just don’t see a stat like that.
The Knicks have used the soft part of the schedule to their advantage and have a chance this week to keep it up before the Clippers come to town this coming Sunday.
The Knicks have not letdown much this season and if one does happen tonight it will be a complete shock. I’m confident and I think you should be confident, that a letdown wont be happening tonight.
Five Questions About Tonight’s Game
- Can the Knicks avoid a slow start? (I’m going ask this until they actually don’t have one)
- With Tayshaun Prince traded away, who will guard Carmelo Anthony tonight?
- What will Jose Calderon bring to the Pistons?
- Will Tyson Chandler be able to have another 20 rebound game against Greg Monroe?
- Can Smith and Stoudemire spark the Knicks once again off the bench?
