I guess every 3 years the Knicks need to change "the culture".

most overused other way of saying, "good management, better players"

Its soooo funny. ESPN doesn't believe it. I just listened to Mike and Mike and they are still saying this is all a ploy to get the Lakers to bite and give him the same job. Tell me something. Phil has been dating Jeanie Buss for YEARS. U don't think she's told him that Jim, her brother, isn't going to give him that job. Also, if Phil were to take that job he'd be working for his wife and her brother. Tell me how that's not gonna become awkward when Phil wants to do something but her brother the owner says no. Yet still that's all I hear he's playing the Knicks for the Lakers. They need to get over themselves.

The more the Knicks win the less ping pong balls that will be available to Denver in the lottery. Even if Knicks don't make playoffs just make it harder for Nuggets to sneak into top 3 picks.

Was really impressed with the Aldrich, Earl Clark combo. Those guys bring a good defensive energy to the floor that hasn't been on this team all season. Would like to see Woodson put those skills to good use even when Amare and Chandler return.

First order of business:  FIRE BALDY! We can't have him coaching if we make the playoffs.

Hey anybody care the the Knicks won their 5th in a row last night? Killing Boston ( i don't care how bad they are, it's always great to douse the Celts). Crazy as it seems, the Knix can still make the playoffs.

I'm happy about Phil but will believe it when i hear it announced from MSG. In the meantime there is still games to be played and finally the knicks are playing ball worth watching and rooting for.

Let's make the playoffs and do some damage. If nothing else let's foil Denver's trip to the lotto

JR is excited.  He should really have tweeted, "Excited to be working with Phil Jackson, also thankful he wasn't around last offseason, or i'd never have gotten a three year deal"

6 hours later and still the only confirmation the deal is official is Greg Anthony? Hmmmm.

scumbag Phil Jackson meme. Potential employer notices he was unemployed and offered to throw a lot of money at him and give him a job.

Rejects offer and negotiates with the guy's boss to take his position and demote him.

Just a little odd how not 1 ny media has confirmed Anthony's claim, and how espn is not even mentioning it.

@Major Pain 0303  If this somehow implodes now, it would mean that it was never really going to happen, or Phil Jackson is one of the worst guys ever.  I understand the idea of using one team to get another in play, but this would be taking that to a new level.

He won't. Every GM wants to institute their own coach.

@Knixtradamus  the main thing for me is woody has the respect of the players, they're playing hard now which leads me to believe he hasn't lost the team and that goes a long way when finding your next coach and thats what phil preaches (if you can get them to follow you like sheep the same way he does then you can get them to do anything)

@Knixtradamus  I'd be on board b/c now he would have someone like a Riley to go to for advice the same way Spoelstra does when he gets stuck

@Knixtradamus  Melo has never been a good communicator.  I'd like to see Melo back, but if Phil decides he wants to go in another direction, so be it.  Despite the recent winning streak, this is a bad team, and its been a disaster of a season.  Not Melo's fault, but if a bad team is at the mercy of one player deciding if he wants to stay or go, its a terrible sign for the future.  Now its in the hands of a guy who knows what a winning team needs.  I can assure you, people will be less likely to second guess Phil Jackson, than anyone else the Knicks could have brought in.  Melo has seen the power flow from his hands to Phil's and he doesn't really know how to react.  Either way he's going to get paid somewhere, but if he really did want to stay, and wanted his 130m, now its actually in doubt.

@Armand N Berdynaj The whole CAA era is just another variation of the Isaiah Thomas voices in Jim Dolan's head. He seems to believe what the stylish rasputins of the world tell him. Even when what they tell him are counter productive to his teams interest.

Somehow I don't think JR will ever get that chance to work with him... hmm wait a minute PJ might need some of JR's kush konnects in NY .. That does it hes stayin lol

@ Seth Nadler. I was feeling like u, but they showed a Melo interview from earlier during the game n he said he thought bringing Phil in was a great move

lindro88

@OLDKNICK @firebaldy  Considering they are likely to get in as the 7 or 8 seed,  that is not happening.  If they could move up to 6, and avoid Miami or Indiana in the first round, it would mean they finished the season on a major tear.  I don't see any of this happening.  They are playing better, and I'm happy about that, but they are beating some of the worst teams I have ever seen.  All time bad NBA teams in the league this year.  April schedule is not full of cupcakes.

@ thatsagoodpoint The funny part is that a lot of the media says its a bad move. But Kobe is very upset. Lol

@carl hill  I hope JR enjoys playing under Phil for the short time until Phil can jettison his stoned arse.

@solar_lion @Knixtradamus  As opposed to what?  Melo has been here 3 years.  The team is worse now than they were before he got here.  He's played well, but clearly it's not about one guy playing well.  I've been a fan 30 years, longer than Melo has been alive.  All everyone talks about is Dolan bringing in a real basketball guy to make the decisions. If he decides Melo isn't the guy, than as a fan of the Knicks, I accept that and move on.  Watching one player score 30 pts a night, while the team is 15 games under .500 does nothing for me.  Melostat301  seems to be saying the same thing.  It's about the Knicks building a winning team, not about one player.

Man, I did not think that you were that shallow. I guess you never learned what it meant to have someones back! A lot of these clowns are "against Carmelo." Even the clown of that article. Everyone have their own agenda, and more likely than not it's all about themselves! It's not like they are turning their back on Carmelo because those loser never had Carmelo's back! Only if for what ever the reason Carmelo turns his back on New York, the NY Knicks, and the Knicks fans I will continue to have his back! And you should too Jackson or no Jackson!

solar_lion

@Sandro @Armand N BerdynajI think Rodman was crazier. J.R. can play. He needs a better voice than Woodson's to re direct him at thist stage. PJ may have the clout to do so. Or else.

"Watching one player score 30 pts a night, while the team is 15 games under .500 does nothing for me."

You can blame Carmelo and make inference tohim as being the problem and the reason that the Knicks are 15 games under .500, but if Carmelo wasn't here and playing 40+ minutes a night the Knick may be 30 games under .500! The Knicks problems has been coaching, CAA, management, and point guard play in that order this season. Carmelo is not the problem but he is part of any solution for sure!

How stupid.... The team is worse than before he got here???so, let's take their record since melo has been here for the past three years and compare it to the three years prior to his arrival......meathead

@lindro88 @solar_lion @Knixtradamus  I hope they win with Melo.  I'd like to see him get a ring here.  That said, you're exactly right.  It's about letting the basketball guy decide what the right basketball moves are.  If that means losing Melo, so be it.

HypoCrit_calNYKfans

@MeloStat301

All I was trying to get across to you was that there are "two sides" here. On one side there are those who are against Carmelo and are against him being on the Knicks. Then there are those who "support " Carmelo and want him to stay and lead the Knciks to a championship, who also will have his back and keeping all the haters from trying to drive him out of New York with all their "lying and slanderous Hate!" If you want to "keep it real", then also "keep it 100" and have his back 100 percent of the time. Because the haters won't stop recruiting backstabbers to help them do their deeds!

MeloStat301

@knicks50 @MeloStat301 Look man, Melo is my fav player on the knicks since ewing.  but I'm a KNICK fan...well I root for melo to succeed somewhere else if he don't stay here?  Sure.  But I wouldn't want him to win, before us...I can appreciate his game and how talented he is, and I will still defend Melo to the haters, but I'm a Knicks fan my man...

Knicks>Carmelo all day.  Aint bout being shallow, about being real to your squad..Melo or no Melo.
