JR Smith, Metta World Peace nominees for Tweeter of the Year

J.R. Smith and Metta World Peace are among the 16 NBA players nominated for Hoops Hype’s Tweeter of the Year.

Also in the mix for the honor are Tony Allen, Matt Barnes, Kobe Bryant, Jamal Crawford, Andre Drummond, Jared Dudley, Kevin Durant, Manu Ginobli, Spencer Hawes, Roy Hibbert, Brandon Jennings, JaVale McGee, Nate Robinson and Kevin Seraphin.

Smith recently made headlines with his Twitter war with Jennings over the role of Smith’s brother, Chris Smith, on the Knicks. The battle may have been won by Smith, but shortly after the Knicks demoted Chris Smith to the D-League.

World Peace has been known to drop a classic tweet every now and then. This season, his most notable one come after the Knicks matched up with the Raptors and World Peace gave some encouragement to fellow tough man Tyler Hansborough,

Early on, Crawford leads the vote. Smith and World Peace rank sixth and 12th, respectively.
