According to Jared Zwerling of ESPN-New York, Jason Kidd did not travel to Milwaukee with the team and Ronnie Brewer will play after he dislocated his finger last night against the Nets.
During his weekly appearance on ESPN New York 98.7 FM’s “Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco” show, Mike Woodson said that Jason Kidd, who missed Monday night’s loss in Brooklyn with lower back spasms, is “day to day.” Kidd did not travel to Milwaukee for Wednesday night’s game.
Ronnie Brewer, who suffered a dislocated left ring finger against the Nets on Monday, didn’t have any breaks and will play against the Bucks with his hand taped.
This is the smart move by the Knicks as having Kidd fly to Milwaukee with a bad back would not have been the best idea to help him recover. The Knicks are going to need him healthy for the long haul and missing a game or two in November is better than a whole bunch more in March and April.
When its comes to Brewer, he struggled for the most part this season but losing him to injury would force a guy like James White to get more playing time which I can’t say would be a good or bad thing since he is mostly an unknown. But Brewer is a starter and losing 40% of your starting lineup in one day isn’t a good thing and so we will see how he does with the injury to his hand for the time being.
