Knicks should have assigned Felton to Erie too.  Maybe he can learn the basics of how to be a pg again.

LOL@ SHUMP...I LOVE HIM FOR THIS:

NotoriousOHM Ohm Youngmisuk
Woodson told Melo he had 2 plays to get 62. When he didn't score in 2 plays, he went for Shumpert, who wouldn't check in until Melo scored

Tyson said last night that the #Knicks had "a couple of meetings" recently. The result? They "got back to basics & are having fun again."

You guys really should calm down. Plenty of teams send down their young players for practice or a game just to call them back up the next day. There is nothing to see here but good use of the teams D-League.

i hope a trade for lowry is in the works.  Felton will only be inspired for so long before he morphs back into the pg he is.

I have no idea what this organization is doing.  How can we demote a guy who has showed so much effort an energy.

@JimmyDude, you miss one of the biggest attriubutes of the PG, he's the guy you trust to have the ball and make key decisions in the clutch and etc.

That's a big reason why LBJ can do this somewhat in that he can make good decision with the ball.

Kidd surely couldn't shoot well early on but it was amazing how many players didn't play off of him and make him shoot. aka John Walls.

Quite humble from your part there.

@nyaceThe D-League team is practicing in NYC so the entire team except Melo should be there practicing.  Melo should stay out only because he has logged too many mins otherwise he needs the practice too.

@Biggie Good points. Let's see what unravels over the next few weeks.

@BiggieWell, let's get rid of Shump so we can become the Lakers! SMH

@kneggyknik Felton is a steady PG. Not flashy, not even a top half PG, but he gets the job done. He can get to the basket, finish in different ways, can execute in different styles of ball (look at how he did with Pringles), brings it every night (even if he is struggling), and isn't afraid to take the big shot when his number's called.

When he brings it, the Knicks win 99%, and that's a fact, which we've all seen.

Would I like to have Lowry? Sure, the kid's playing out of his mind right now. But...

- He's in a contract year so it's all for the money

- There's no guarantee he'll stick with whichever team he gets traded to

- That would mean taking a chance which could lead to losing assets moving forward, and let's not pretend we have an abundance of those

- He'll be looking for big money, multi year deal, which will effectively kill any chance of the Knicks participating in the 2015 FA bonanza (if indeed that's the plan).

@KnickelusKnickleby I just want to log on without any issues. Can't log on from my phone and haven't been able to log in for the last hour. If this is their solution to having poor content then a lot of us will just leave.

@Mets0987 Even if that were the case, those 3 guys occupy a roster spot. Sending down would not impact any trades.

@Oscar SernaAre u doubting the expert Knicks medical staff not being able to have Shump back in the rotation by Thursday?

Last time we played the Celtics at MSG, we lost by 41. They were a crappy team back then, too! Agreed let's see what we can do against the top teams.

@xmenreturn @nyace a lot of these guys need recovery days, most of em except the guys they sent down. Felton especially needs rest. He's been banged up for over a year now. We see how much better he plays when he is fresh and rested.

It's not that Felton sucks it's that he plays too much or plays injured too much.

@verysilentjay LOL... Felton is a back up poing guard with a starters contract. Same thing I was saying about Charlie Ward years back, except his contract was fair....

@xmenreturn the knicks medical staff are a joke, but my main concern here is why is there no news? i mean if it was any other player in the knicks organization we would of known in a matter of minutes, but nothing on shump, I wonder if he's getting traded....

@xmenreturn @VerySilentJay Lowry can be step one in giving Melo help. Lowry at around 8 mil per would be a steal for his production. I wouldn't exceed 9 mil per for him. The market won't be that good for him this summer as most teams have good starting pg's. He may have to take 8 mil per and run with it. So while Melo and Lowry may not seem like a contending core, Melo, Lowry and Marc Gasol might be a good core to contend.

L-Switch
L-Switch

@Biggie @VerySilentJay He's good enough to be a starting PG on a contending team. He can be one of the pieces to be apart of the solution. The Knicks should be able to afford him and go after a max player in 2015 to pair with Melo. At least I think. Would have to look over the cap again.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@VerySilentJayYeah but Melo needs the ball too!   I do not see Melo at this stage of being only a PG away from taking a team far into the playoffs.

We would still need a very good inside threat. Please don't dare say STATues!

This team needs to think hard and prepare for 2015 and beyond.

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@xmenreturn @VerySilentJay CP3 + Melo will get you at least to an ECF. Make no mistake. The best scorer in the league + a top 3 PG in the league...Yeah, that's an ECF duo right there.

Let me say it again, make no mistake.

Obviously I say all of this under the assumption that we'd have a different coach.

Look at how Paul just dominates and controls the Clips' offense. Thanks to him, Griffin looks like a superstar that can carry a team on his own and D Jordan looks like best roll man in the game.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@VerySilentJay Let's face it, no PG and Melo will get us a ring (even CP3).

We're at a crossroads against and I'm sure we will make the mistake and go with keeping the max so-called superstar over looking to field a team in the forseeable future to really contend.
