Knicks looking at Earl Clark and Dahntay Jones

The Knicks are looking into free-agent forward Earl Clark (Wojnarowski) and swingman Dahntay Jones (Stein).

5:05 p.m.: The Knicks are finalizing a deal with Clark (Wojnarowski).

Clark, 26, was released by the 76ers after being traded from Cleveland. At 6-foot-10, he is averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this year.

The Knicks had Jones in for a workout this week. The 33-year-old was released by the Bulls during training camp.

earl clark went to high school with me, i was a freshman when he was a junior. all i really remember of him was that he was freaking TALL lmao he eventually changed schools to focus on basketball so i only saw him for that year.
 he was a beast though.

Knicks are about to sign Shannon Brown.  Looks like Brown and Clark it is.

we need to get Jimmer. you can't have enough shooters on your team that can actually knock down shots.

I like the earl clark signing.

He has the physical tools, he just needs to get his skills together.  He's still young enough that that is a possibility.

Hopefully we sign a point guard, not Dahntay Jones - maybe Bobby Brown or Lester Hudson.  Or even Jimmer.

I truly believe Phil will save us in the end.

In a perfect world, I wish the Knicks were able to waive Felton after this incident, along with Aldrich and with the Clark signing, also signed Ivan Johnson, Bobby Brown, and either Jimmer or Dahntay Jones.

But I'm sure knowing this Knicks and this (no) brain trust, they will sign someone else that will disappoint the fan base and probably wont be played by Woodson.

Earl Clark is a poor mans Tim Thomas... smdh. Knicks needed a bruiser like Ivan Johnson that can rebound and hit the 15 footer.... I'm still holding out hope that they sign Bobby Brown once his season in China is over... he is CAA so there is a chance...

i think we fans are so jaded we can't trust much of anything at the moment. getting rid of woodson NOW would do alot to build fan trust.

Maybe we could get a team of Earl's. Clark, Smith, and Barron. Sounds like a law firm.

I'm sure Woodson will cripple whatever confidence he has left in him.

If we pick up Clark we don't need to pick up his old contract right? Can we just sign him until the end of the year and see how it works out

This guy is gonna be a fan favorite. and he gonna knock down that corner 3 that shumpert has been missing all season. we can really space the floor.  i didn't even mention his specialty. 6-10 with long arms and mobile on D. On the low key this might be better then the trades we were suppose to make.

I like both these moves i think we definatly need  SF's to give Melo some rest even if its only 5 minutes per game.

@orlando_knickfan  guy is a 37% FG shooter we don't need another guy who takes to many shots what we need is some perimeter and interior defense

@rico @ChildsPunchedKobe  yea..and idk. same reason a lot of decent bench players don't play.. same reason kenyon miraculously  landed in our lap last season and gave us an extra kick… can't hurt. if he fold under ny lights, we release him. no harm done.

@ChildsPunchedKobe @rico  Kmart has a history of being a superb player, dicey teammate. Don't think you can say Clark is just like Kmart.

@VerySilentJay @rico  FO had to buy in or in this case "buy out"…Mills / Dolan should have told Woody… "You want defense, play the hand you were dealt or leave"…

Unless we don't know something, which is probably the case

@VerySilentJay @rico @Jesus Blas  yeah I noticed he got no PT but why was he benched?

is the question
