Knicks make Pablo Prigioni signing official

The Knicks officially announced that they have re-signed Pablo Prigioni.

“We are very excited to have Pablo back in a Knicks uniform. He is one of our catalysts on both the offensive and defensive end,” Executive Vice President and General Manager Glen Grunwald said. “His tenacity, leadership and experience played an integral role in our team’s success down the stretch, and into the postseason.”

The details of the contract were not released by the Knicks per team policy, but it has been reported that the deal is for three years (with the third year being a team option), for about $1.5-2 million, depending on incentives.

Pirigioni, 35, averaged 3.5 points, 3.0 assists and 1.8 rebounds over 16.2 minutes in 78 games (18 starts) last season with the Knicks.

This is a major signing for the Knicks. They need what Prigioni brings on both sides of the ball exponentially. This is a very positive step.
