Knicks might consider a sign-and-trade of Anthony for Harden

The Houston Rockets, who covet both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, are willing to execute a sign-and-trade, trading James Harden for whichever player they can’t sign via free agency, according to Chris Broussard (ESPN, June 26).

Broussard believes the Knicks would be open to a possible sign-and-trade of Anthony for Harden under such circumstances.

“The Rockets are confident they can trade Asik and Lin to clear the cap room necessary to offer near-max dollars. … Assuming the Rockets obtain the cap room to sign James or Anthony, the next step will be to give up their star guard James Harden in a sign-and-trade for whichever superstar (James or Anthony) they don’t sign as a free agent,” Broussard wrote.

Not feeling this trade. Harden seems to be a front runner. Fades in the big spotlight.I don't think he's right for NYC. If Melo chooses Houston then Phil should try to get Terrence Jones and Chandler Parsons along with Harden. In essence the Rockets would sign C. Parsons to an extension then do the trade for Melo. Maybe another body needs to get thrown ine money right but this would be something to get excited about

Guys, they're talking about a sign and trade. In a sign and trade you can't expect to get the same return as if it were a normal trade. I would say absolutely yes to this trade, even more so if they could get a draft pick.

Good move. The Knicks would get their STAR PLAYER and LE BORING JAMES would come here because he would not have to worry about passing the ball. GREAT MOVE!

I like Harden, but I don't trade him straight up for Melo. You give up a guy who plays no defense for another guy who does not play defense either, but both are great offensively. Knicks don't do it.

Harden is definitely not an up grade over Melo. Only thing I'll give Harden over Melo is clutch shots.

Get rid of Melo. Take anything for him. Bring back The Captain and Walt.

A sign and trade would be fine IF it's the right fit. In this case my response would be no thank you

No way the rockets would trade harden, they need him and Carmelo or Lebron on the same team

So melo wants to be in Houston rather then NY.  Good luck in the West Melo.  Its NY man, Phil Jackson is here.  We got you a really good PG with more moves to come.
