Mark Jackson to the Knicks? Anything is possible…

It’s very likely that Steve Kerr is Phil Jackson’s No. 1 choice to run the Knicks.

On Wednesday, as callers to Mike Francesa’s afternoon drive on WFAN radio continued to “ask” for Mark Jackson to get consideration for the job, they were told it isn’t going to happen. Francesa, like many other “experts” who cover, talk, and write about the NBA, all seem convinced it’s Kerr or bust for the Knicks. The other popular theory is that Phil Jackson wants Kerr so he can “coach through his former player,” because conversations with Carmelo Anthony, through sources, say so.

Considering the Warriors and Lakers are now inthe mix for Kerr, Phil Jackson must look at his list of oher candidates, and if Mark Jackson isn’t on it, he should be. It’s likely he already is.

" Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me " Can't make that same D'antoni mistake.( sounds familiar name: D'antoni, system : TRASH ) Now this dude Kerr got leverage. More reason to squeeze us for more money. Kick rocks and take Phil witch ya if ya ask me with that system that's pretty much..... useless in today's NBA and don't mean ish we can't get stops . Damn I wish we would of waited it out and got Jackson to fall in our lap this way from the start, smdh. Knicks brass, aaaaallllways overpaying and it's gonna happen again for another future lameduck

According to Phil Jackson, we need a system offense because it allows a consistent transition to defense. Each player will have a role in the offense and then be able to more consistently retreat back to defend. So offense then creates defense. Playing Woody's ISO ball had players standing around waiting for something to happen and an unorganize change to defense.

At least, that's the plan. Realistically, in order to play better defense, we need better defenders.

@Knicks_Fanatic @lpeezy31 Phil Jacksons teams have been pretty good defensively for the most part I believe...I also heard him mention this fluid transition from triangle to defense...I agree that we do need better defenders...although a system does have something to do with how guys defend...goes both ways.

I disagree. The owner 's expectations with the Golden State franchise are entirely unrealistic. That 's not a championship caliber team. At best, they're second round and out in the western conference.

In NY, Kerr will have a guy running basketball operations, who will always be in his corner. The eastern conference as a whole is not nearly competitive as the western conference; and the Knicks are in a great salary cap position for 2015. Plus, Golden State can't match what Dolan will pay him. (money always talks).

I have my reservations about Kerr's personality and how it will translate in NY but the Knick job is the call for him, in my view.
