Matthew Falkenbury, theKnicksBlog.com I’m still not confident that he will be back for the regular season or the playoffs. But, we will see how things go and if Kurt will have one more shot this year with the Knicks. Below are my initial thoughts about the reported injury to Thomas earlier this afternoon If this report is true, this could be the end of not only Kurts season but maybe his career as well. At 40 years old, he may decide that this injury is the final nail in the coffin and go into retirement. But, Kurt is a warrior and I don’t think he will not at least attempt to make a return for next season so he can go out on his terms. As it pertains to this season, its not a crushing blow to the Knicks. He is an end of the bench guy and outside of last night’s great game, he has been up and down all season, mostly down. The Knicks will probably cut him and look to sign a big man considering the front line is pretty much all banged up outside of Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby. Kurt did the best he could considering his age and talent deficiencies at this time in his career. But, I will always remember how, on a bad foot, he helped the Knicks get out of their funk on the trip and help lead them to victory over the Jazz.
