However, if I was either Minny or Boston, they'd probably rather lose Love and Rondo for nothing then acquire Chandler and amare even if it's for one season. However, I believe that is their misguided plan for keeping Melo lindro88 5pts The poll question should be which obscure T-Wolf will have a career night....A- Chase BuddingerB- Shabazz MuhammadC-Alexey ShvedD- Other tifoso6 5pts The poll questions are not really to the point. I would miss Melo in some sense. But if we used his cap space to sign a top point guard and another good player I would say I am alright with his leaving. fast_eddie 5pts So, any positive Knicks news today? Woody still here, JR still here, Felton still here, Bargnani still here, Mills still here, Dolan still here. Nope, guess not... Knicks_Fanatic 5pts If Melo leaves, he will not make the same mistake of agreeing to a sign and trade that depletes his future destination of it's assets. So essentially, if he leaves, we will be totally screwed. lindro88 5pts @Seth Nadler If Melo resigns, and that misguided plan is the reason, we all know that the real reason is 127 million dollars. He's not dumb, his agent isn't dumb, and they know full well the Knicks can't put something like that together. VerySilentJay 5pts @lindro88 All of the above? chudogz1 5pts @ lindro88. I'd have to say Shved... Fatty always gets torched by the back ups rgm891 5pts Lmaoooo!!!!!! onewhoknix 5pts @tifoso6 But how do you really feel about Melo? Do you like Melo? Do you like-like Melo? Has he done you wrong and its hard for you to support him again? chudogz1 5pts @tifoso6. That all sounds great, until u think of who's gonna be available... lindro88 5pts @tifoso6 We can't use his cap space this off season. If you are talking about 2015, I think it makes things harder if a player like Melo isn't already here. Than again, who really knows. Players go where the money is and they all have different ways of looking at things. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @fast_eddie I'm positive there is no positive news. rgm891 5pts If he wants to go to either Clippers or Chitown for example, arent those teams forced to do a trade with us because they dont have enough cap space? So regardless of his thinking he may have no choice. orlando_knickfan 5pts So where would he go? Cause unleea he wants to go to philly, orlando. That's thw only way outside of miamiChicago woukd have to get rid of boozer, gibson, heinrich, and dunleavy just to squeak him in. xmenreturn 5pts @Knicks_Fanatic Please What great decision has Melo made to give you that thought? Woody is still here! Chris 5pts @thatsagoodpoint @Seth Nadler Whoopie, Ainge will take an expiring for a 2 or 3 yr contract what a nice guy, not. Let Ainge hang in the wind, Rondo wants out, and that is a straight up trade give us Green to match salaries. Turn the screws around for a change rgm891 5pts @thatsagoodpoint @Seth Nadler You did say this man. If the Knicks want Melo, there's no other option. tifoso6 5pts @onewhoknix @tifoso6 I think he is a great player and has done everything that one can ask this year except sometimes he holds the ball too much. But to me everything starts and ends with the point guard in the NBA. If we could keep him and add a point guard I am all for it. But the two top priorities are a point guard and a new coach. johneco 5pts @Biggie @fast_eddie How can that possibly be positive? It means either Melo leaves or we trade our expirings for long-term trash. xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie Compete for what? Then if it's here, we are totally screwed because we may make short-term bad decision for a guy that has NOT shown he wants to lead. rgm891 5pts That is the greatest thing that could come out. Good im glad. Force the F.O to get their heads out of their asse%s man. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @rgm891 Melo came with Billups, Balkman, Shelden Williams, and Carter. That's like having another team take back Felton and JR to get Melo. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @orlando_knickfan My crystal ball is cloudy, but these are possibitilties. 1) Miami with Bosh going to NYK or Dallas.2) Dallas on cap space3) Boston for young talent and picks4) Chicago for D Rose xmenreturn 5pts @orlando_knickfan Yep, he either goes somewhere where he is not the leader and top dog or he goes somewhere to get his money and continue racking of pts (stats) and no rings. I tell ya what, if he doesn't choose wisely this time, he will have been on 3 teams, played at the mecca and still not won anything. He sure won't be one of the greatest Knicks if he leave having only gotten us to the 2nd round of the playoffs. We don't hang banners for that crap! MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @Knicks_Fanatic Melo isn't the GM, and 2...people are forgetting WAY back in December..Dolan said there will be no coaching change this season under any means.Knicks chairman James Dolan told New York players in a meeting Thursday that there are no trades or changes to the coaching staff forthcoming, ESPN.com has learned.Sources close to the situation told ESPN.com that Dolan gathered the team before the first practice in the wake of New York's embarrassing 29-point home loss to Oklahoma City on Christmas Day largely in an attempt to hush the growing speculation about coach Mike Woodson's job security following the Knicks' 9-19 start. xmenreturn 5pts @VerySilentJay Then we are doomed! VerySilentJay 5pts @xmenreturn I get the feeling that the Knicks' FO, in their desperation will absorb more bad contracts of different players to entice Melo to stay, say, for example, Josh Smith or Eric Gordon, or even Tyreke, effectively crippling our cap situation moving forward. xmenreturn 5pts @rgm891Absolutely. If I'm a GM, i would ask myself, what player(s) can I get, mortgaging the future like the Nets, to make a realistic chance to go after a ring. Bill Russell? - too oldMagic? Too Rich and oldMJ? Same as MagicBird? Too old and has a team ready to contendLBJ, takenParker, TakenI've come to the conclusion that it's not possible next year to get Melo the help to realistic go after a ring especially when Melo hasn't even sniffed the NBA Finals in 10 years. As the song says:Only know you've been high when you're feeling low Only hate the road when you’re missin' home Only know you love him when you let him go And you let Melo go rgm891 5pts The knicks are up to an almost impossible task to make the roster a web gem in order for melo to stay. Its going to be crazy to see what moves we end up making. Like u stated it may be for the better he leaves so we dont have terrible contracts such as eric gordon on our team lmao. It is going to be interesting. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @Biggie @Knicks_Fanatic It would give Dolan a star he could sell. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @Biggie @rgm891 Or send us D Rose. xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie OMG, You stated AB was the plan before and he would be the 2nd option.Love and Melo won't win anything! We still have no defense too! No PG!No way to get past the Heat ,Indy and maybe Wiz next year. So Superstars don't come on trees! So do Helmets but you got one! Honestly, unless we could get a miracle player(s) next year, I would opt to let Melo go and truly plan for 2015+. NY is ready for a young hungry group that play team play and defense. I would go after a good GM first and then let that person decide the plan for 2015. I truly think we can make a pitch for LBJ this time because we have the stage for him and he already has rings now. xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie LMFAO! Yeah and the whole world knew this except Melo. They goaded Melo to do that and he did just that. xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie WOW! So we won't a Superstar that has only been to the playoffs each year.....mind you that that's not true for us and once we got there, we surely didn't go far.Love's team? Who the heck cares about Love. Mr. Prediction who stated emphatically that we would be the 3rd seed with more than 54 wins and AB would be a force and 2nd option? Stick with Accounting Biggie! lol xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301 Yep, Melo was very hurt when Hibbert rub his shot up against the board and he failed to get back on defense. Yep Melo was hurt in the playoffs under Pringles where he decided to pass the ball to Jared Jeffries in the most clutch of the game. The only thing hurt is your knowledge of the game. lol xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie Dude Our Superstar can't get us to the playoffs in the East where most teams are below .500. Melo is a scorer and for us to get far we need much more. Melo has been in the league for 10 years so Parcells would say, you are what u are. MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @MeloStat301 No No...Jr wasn't right..Melo himself was hurt during the playoffs so was Tyson! U have selective memory bro. xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301 Dude, after seeing Woody self destruct in the playoffs, it was bail out time then. Magic didn't wait until Westhead blew another year even when he had won a ring with that dude in his first 2 years. Dude, you bail out on a coach when you see that he is over matched especially in the one area that you are trying to succeed in - PLAYOFFS. YIKES xmenreturn 5pts @Biggie I don't think he should wait until 2015. My pt is that WE the Knicks need to do that and let Melo go. We need to think about what is best for this team and not Melo now. He has proven he is not a leader. Why do dumb thing to further make thing worse by trying to find some subpar pieces to think we can win a ring with him? MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @MeloStat301 A lot of injuries since day 1...you don't bail on your coach 4 weeks into the season, stop with your little silly argument, it makes no sense. xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301 Say What? We sucked from day 1! How long do you need to see that the crazy switching was not working. If Melo is this dumb, we need to let him go period. MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @MeloStat301 To Lose?? The risk of herb Williams, or alan Houston taking the job, team performs well..and the knicks sign one of those guys? He's seen this story before. MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @MeloStat301 Dude, its over half way through the season! What are you talking about? How was melo to know this team wood perform like this under woodson this year? Ur not making any sense. xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301 I do. Melo knows Woody is not the answer so what has he got to lose?Woody has made him log major mins and could wear time of his career. xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301It's about the team and Melo should be thinking about how many more prime years he has without getting close to ring! Once again, would you allow a bum coach take away another year of your prime years? MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @Knicks_Fanatic No, maybe he knows there is no clear replacement right now mid-season and doesn't want Darrel walker or allan Houston taking the job half way...think for a second buddy. MeloStat301 5pts @xmenreturn @MeloStat301 Not half way through the season...doesn't matter if they let him go now...or let him go in june..it really doesn't. Especially at this point...it isn't Melos call..why does he need to let him go now..especially since they picked up woodson option for next season...they are just letting it play out at this point, I'm sure hes gone in june. xmenreturn 5pts @Knicks_Fanatic I agree. Melo had the cards to remove Woody but I think he made have been reluctant because he probably chose Woody over Pringles and now he's gun shy trying to go that route again. Knicks_Fanatic 5pts @MeloStat301 @xmenreturn@Knicks_Fanatic Dolan is just keeping Woody on the hot seat to direct the bad press away from himself. He is a master at focusing negative PR on others to keep himself out of the line of fire. Woody is the scapegoat. If Woody were fired now, everyone would have to vent on the front office. xmenreturn 5pts @MeloStat301 Dude, If Melo wanted to stay and not have this coach, all he has to do is tell Dolan and Mr. Potatohead is packing his parts. Stop it with the nonsense. Melo has the cards to get his coach. If not, then why are even talking about him staying. He should go and soon because he does not want to be a leader. If that was you, would you allow Woody to stay unless he was your guy already?Would you wasted another prime year of your career if you thought a ring was the most important, playing under Woody unless he was your guy already?
