Pablo Prigioni has a hairline fracture of his right great toe, the Knicks announced.
He is expected to be out at least two weeks.
Harris DeckerWith Raymond Felton already sidelined, this is a huge injury for the Knicks. Prigioni spent a large amount of time covering John Wall early in Monday nights game and seemed to be getting tired around the time of his injury. This injury does one of three things:
- Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith or Tim Hardaway Jr. will have to play extensive minutes at the point.
- The Knicks will be forced to make a trade for a point guard.
- A guy like Toure’ Murry will have to get more minutes as the backup to Beno Udrih.
In any of these cases, it’s not great news for the Knicks who finally found some point guard continuity against the Wizards. Beno Udrih will be able to hold the fort until Felton returns but the depth at this position has suddenly disappeared in a matter of days.
