Quote: J.R. Smith on Knicks energy in loss to Bulls

“There is no switch, on or off. You either got it or you don’t. You can’t play the game like a light switch, or you get buried. We’ve got to come out with it already on.”

Got to have your own house in order before you can criticize others for having their houses in disarray.

Those who can't do, teach.  Or in JR's case, preach.  Thanks Philosopher Smith

I'm not a fan of Michael Kay but earlier today on his show he ripped the Knicks a new one. I was really surprised how he called out Dolan and the KGB mentality at the Garden where no one of authority speaks and accepts blame for this mess. He called out the coach and players too. Kudos to him especially considering his show broadcasts from the Knicks radio home.

Apparently W___y is starting STAT and JR. Shump and Prigs to the bench.

How Felton continues to play, and start is beyond me.

The Knicks play no defense, so what do we do? We play Felton, STAT and JR to start the game. I guess why not try to out-score opponents in the first quarter now.

If fans want to get through to Dolan...don't show up at the garden and cancel your cablevision accts.

Lord knows team hasn't shown up why should anyone else?

Hmmmm, a very revealing interview with George Karl about how Melo still hasn't learned the true meaning of being a leader, gets posted today and shockingly, NO ONE on this site brings it up for discussion.

remove dolan and the team would get exponentially better immediately if not sooner, that won't happen and i don't believe in miracles but the positive patsy's seem too.

woodson isn't the whole problem but those that are confident in a doable solution keep that as a hope for the near term future.

the problems go much deeper than woodson, that will become apparent when he is let go and another savior is brought in to please the positive patsy's who are so void of bb acumen that they seem to think every trade, coach, draft pick, or fa signing is the best thing since sliced bread and will lead to the miracle that never comes.

get some players that aren't perimeter jump shooters, refuse to move the ball, have proper spacing, and the team would improve, but when the star of the team doesn't lead by example how can you expect others to do the right thing, he needs to show the way and be a positive example which he is not.

i know most here think you can out score the opposition because the mvp wears the knicks jersey, that boat has already sailed and is a fallacy in the minds of the fanatics who are as diluted as any fan base in the league, you would think by now they would realize the error of their ways.  any fan that doesn't realize the importance of defense should go back to bb school and get their degree, but it continues to look like those same fans deserve the incompetent owner they are stuck with since they are both on equal ground when it comes to being bb experts.

i'm ready to see a Malice at the Palace Part 2 tonight

We need some brawling, Flagrants, frustration

it takes Chaos before there is order.

we need suspensions, someone smashing dolans guitar

smacking woodson on his baldie

we need straight up hooligan mode to end this season

but then again with this team we won't even get that right.

DOLAN is the source of our woes. He needs to step aside and let a bball mind take over.

LATETST ON PHIL JACKSON:

"There are a few (opportunities), but I shouldn't name them. It wouldn't be right to talk about it, name anything. But yeah, there are some. There are winners and losers in the NBA, and a lot of people are trying to reclaim their position or change their culture or whatever. So yeah, there is. I've had conversations. Some of them are feelers. "Are you interested?" type of thing. I did go out to Detroit last year and sit with (Pistons President) Joe (Dumars). I guess we weren't successful, but I really encouraged (Pistons owner) Tom Gores that the general manager has to be able to pick his coach so they can win it together. And Joe wanted Maurice, so it didn't work out, unfortunately for Maurice. I developed a relationship with the owner, who lives in LA. We have conversations."

We have tooo many execs from the Pacers and the Raptors! No pride in the organization since 99!

We have a Alcoholic and former Crack Addict in an owner who has no clue what hes doing and after effing up this organization

Isiah, Herb Williams, Larry Brown, Walsh even Woodson all have indiana roots.

Isiah and Grunwald were are from Chicaco and are all former Raptors employees.

Dolan Even fired John Andriese mid-season... and replaced with who? His Snitch.. herb Williams!

We need to get someone who has a clue in the Front Office... Allan Houston? I rather have Walt Clyde Frazier! !

We need someone who really knows the game and is not CAA or whatever the hell that is and who can communicate with the Media and Fans.

We also need Mark Jackson as head Coach, bring in someone like Oakley and Ewing as Assistants REAL KNICKS who can give us respect, hustle, pride and make others better, accountable and also make new  players

come here.

we turned down mark for dantoni!

Get mark jax here.....he would get along with any gm.

I would prefer a gm first but if jax becomes available...jump on that.

Mills was brought here to get melo to sign long term.....get to work on that mr mills.

Hopefully you make it happen n Dolan is in a good mood so you keep your job.

New Coach New GM New Roster, damm even New Ownership.  Everything is a problem lmaooo.  Whatever angle you attack the Knicks from is well worth it.  Adam Silver saves us from this misery as a fellow Knicks fans who has the power to shape the future.  What a offseason this will be for us fans.  We get screwed left and right as fans man.

@buddhabing  Sadly, fans have been saying the same things for weeks now and these radio hosts are just starting to pick it up.

Now granted fans overreact all the time but this situation with Knicks management has been evident since the season started.

@cole3244  Cole you ragged my azz about being a fake coach and a 1/2 court coach when in reality I am neither. Yet you continually don`t mention the Knicks are the slowest offensive team in the league, are at the bottom of the league in fastbreak or secondary points and take on average the most time getting into the frontcourt killing their ability to run good 1/2 court. Why not a little more on that topic and a little less crap on Melo, who at least is still playing not quitting. You a latin hater too?

@Wicksell  When you say knicks I know you always mean DOLAN. There is no knicks without dolan. Who makes all the decisions good or bad. So hence forth I will not say knicks if it is a business decision I will say DOLAN.... THE UNMOVEABLE!!!!!!!!!

@ Wicksell. They are one problem, but that starts with Guitar Shimmy allowing it

@MeloStat301  Detroit is just about ready to dump Dumars, something they should've done long ago.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they got smart and offered Jax the gig.

We really can't possibly believe Dolan is smart enough to execute such a move.

Blaze NYK
Blaze NYK

@OLDKNICK  Don't forget Kurt Thomas!  He actually started some during that 18-5 stretch and put everything on the line every time he played, even in spot minutes.  He also basically ended his career winning a game for us to stop our losing streak and start the 13 win streak that closed out the season.

ENGLBERT_HUMPERDINK
ENGLBERT_HUMPERDINK

@OLDKNICK  I think the reason most on TKB are resistant to blaming dolan is because they fear that he will never leave so what is the point? Blaming others is far easier.

Chris
Chris

@Mr.Boots @darealeric  That is a false equivalency, you can be  a Melo fan and a Knick fan. Right now it is very difficult to be a Knick fan, our owner sucks, Mills is a wimp, and DAW is totally incompetent. Melo is one of the top 2 or 3 scorers in the league, and this franchise isn`t smart enough to get him players that will enable us to win

Mr.Boots
Mr.Boots

@chudogz Guitar Shimmy is benefitting from his CAA relationship. If you looked at the list of CAA client acts another poster found for us you would see why. The Knicks and the Rangers are only a portion of MSG's income. Daddy Dolan separated MSG off from Cablevision  a few years back. Guitarzan is hell-bent on proving that he can make MSG into as big a profit machine as Cablevision. Booking CAA acts year-round is part of his plan (along with becoming a CAA rockstar).

Yesterday, JVG made a comment about how if the Knicks stink at playing matinees,  don't schedule matinee games. This showed his ignorance of the big picture. Matinee games are booked when the arena has another game or concert, etc. booked for that evening. That is where the profit comes from When a concert or other act is booked, MSG makes big money without having to pay salaries or benefits to the performers.

@VerySilentJay I'd take Dumas then.  It's hard to to people to go to Detroit with the state of the debt in that state and city.  At least they won a ring with Dumars.

Put him in NY with our money source and we could be much better.

ENGLBERT_HUMPERDINK

@VerySilentJay  I fear jay that if dolan is smart enough to hire phil jackson that at some point he will stick his nose in the business again and screw it up

@Blaze NYK @OLDKNICKYep the biggest shot of last season. Woody was sinking then until Kurt gave us a lifeline.

Now I blame Kurt Thomas!  See how easy it is find answers? lol

@Chris Chris, as much as I respect you as a LI Hall of Fame coach, there are times when your close relationship with Jimmy B. distorts your perspective when it comes to Melo.

Someone else also mention that CAA on the MSG side could help in the battle between the Barclays Center and MSG in drawing the top entertainers on the planet.

@Mr.Boots  Wow history repeats itself, Ned Irish the first owner of the Knicks and the owner of the Old Garden used to do the same thing and ship the Knicks off to the 69th street Amory

@xmenreturn @ENGLBERT_HUMPERDINK  That's a good one. Russell, Haha well you right about phil and he did say that teh knicsk roster was flawed a couple of years back. I also never saw phil build a team so whatever. We are screwed with dolan anyway. Hey I just think I officially gave up

xmenreturn

@ENGLBERT_HUMPERDINK The odd thing is that Phil Jackson is a lost cause unless you can get him to be an advisor maybe.

I truly luv what Phil has done but let's me honest.  Phil had maybe 2 of the best players in the NBA on each of his winning teams always.  MJ, Pippen, Kobe-Shaq, Kobe-Gasol and other good help.

I really don't know if Phil can do much with one star or do much without at least having the best NBA player playing period. I saw how much they struggled when Shaq left and Kobe was in his prime.

Once again, our Knicks always go after players, coaches and GMs when they are past their primes or usefulness.

I'm waiting for us to bring back Bill Russell. I saw one the commercials where he could still play.
