The Knicks are “close” to acquiring Andrea Bargnani from the Toronto Raptors, according to Howard Beck of the New York Times.
New York would send Steve Novak, Marcus Camby and possible first- and second-round picks in a future draft.
Bargnani is a career 15.2 PPG player, with 4.8 rebounds-per-game, playing 30 minutes a game.

Toronto is finalizing agreement to send Andrea Bargnani to Knicks for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak and 2016 first-round pick, sources tell Y!

Wojnarowski reports that the deal would be Novak, Camby, 2016 first round pick and two future second round picks.
Tommy DeeCan’t confirm just yet, but you could smell the wood burning after the Nets trade. Bargnani is a solid piece in my mind especially considering what they reportedly are giving up.

This trade is more than fine when it comes to four of the five pieces heading north of the border.
Novak and Camby gave the Knicks nothing at all and their contracts are awful. To have them go for a guy, when healthy, can help spread the floor is pretty good.
Then two second round picks for the Knicks is basically just a waste of time really. They normally can’t wait to trade this away, which is fine by me.
But with the Knicks once again giving up another future first round pick (Remember they dont’ have one next year thanks to the Carmelo Anthony trade) this trade could be in favor of Toronto down the line.
I know the argument is basically why is giving up a pick that could be in the mid to late 20′s such a big deal? The point really is that giving up a first round pick within the division for a guy that wont put them over the top just seems like a lot.
