Iman Shumpert will start tonight against the Toronto Raptors, the Knicks announced. The “pop” he heard in his knee is apparently OK.
Tyson Chandler, Kurt Thomas, Amar’s Stoudemire and Rasheed Wallace all stayed back in New York, according to the team.

That is great news in terms what could have been for Iman Shumpert. For a young guy coming off of ACL surgery on the same knee he heard the pop in, he admitted after the game Wednesday that he was scared the potential injury was bad.
The Knicks have had so much bad luck with injuries since Christmas time and more recently with all the knee injuries that were going around the locker room.
With the team on a modest two game winning streak and getting Melo back, it’s nice to see the good news continue for Shumpert and see that he will be ready tonight.
It terms of the four guys that are not making the trip. Wow, that is pretty much 80% of our projected front line when training camp was in session. I hope the Knicks wrap Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby in bubble wrap when they travel for the rest of the season so they wont get hurt.
