Sam SpiegelmanThe New York Knicks landed in the No. 16 spot of ESPN’s Sportsnation Uni Watch Power Rankings.
The Knicks were one of the down-trending teams on the list, and ESPN.com writer Paul Lukas provided this explanation:
“The good news is that the Knicks finally got rid of the black trim last season. The bad news is that they reduced the arching on their chest letters (looks kinda amateurish now), and can someone please explain what the deal with those thick waistbands on the shorts? Looks totally 1980s junior-high gym class.”
Well, I guess the ’80s style has lost its touch.
Atop the power rankings are the Boston Celtics, followed by the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors. Rounding out the top 10 are the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls.
The bottom-feeders of the list include the Dallas Mavericks at No. 25, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Bobcats, Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves and the lowly Sacramento Kings in last place.
