Keith Schlosser

He was always going to opt out because that is how he gets a raise. He doesn't get another contract after this one. When he's 50 years old you think he's going to have commercials and color commentary spots? He isn't that likeable and he stay in Syracuse long enough to get past journalism 101.

If he is going to continue to wear hats like that, he can sign anywhere else but here. C'mon man, Clyde is watching!

If that video doesn't scream "IM STAYING IN NEW YORK" then the only thing he can say is Im staying in NY  for it to be official. After seeing that video, im convinced he will be staying in NY!!!! GO KNICKS!!!

I love how he mentions the fake fans that boo him once he does something wrong! NY fans swear their the best, when in reality, "these hoes ain't loyal"...

Melo is not leaving NY he just wants to be wine and dine by these other teams thats all .....he scratched, clawed  and schemed to get all the way home to NY period!!!

Melo is so hard to read but I honestly feel like he wants to finish his career here. He is a loyal commitment type person. One wife.  Spent 8 long years in Denver and I think he will spend at least 8 in NY.

NY media are the worst and a big reason some athletes don't want to play here. However Melo has to understand that the media doesn't speak for the fans at all. NewYork fans are passionate about their team and take disappointment personally which leads to boos but as a professional athlete and superstar you can't take the passion of fans personally. The boos are hard to hear but the cheers are the loudest he will hear anywhere when he plays well and win.

OT. watching the 96 draft ... Marbury had way to much potential for things to end the way they did

this would be so much easier had stat and bargs opted out. my hate for stat went to another level

He's not going anywhere.   I think he made it very clear.  It's not about just next year, it's about years down the line.  NY and miami are the best options for him.  He doesn't want his son to grow up around that Chicago violence.

He loves the lime-light of playing on the biggest stage and the pressure that comes with it.

Houston is too small of a market as is Dallas.  It's NY or Miami.

Based on what he said in this interview, I get the feeling he's leaning toward staying in NY. I don't think he wants to leave but he does want to be courted by other teams. Phil shouldn't low ball him if he wants him to stay. If Melo is to take a pay cut, it shouldn't be significant. A low ball is an insult to a player of his caliber.

This video comes off as very part I ish, as if he's already made his decision and will announce each move with a new clip.

@Winston Hadaway i think all Melo wants is the leverage to hear a plan.  Hold Phil's and Dolan's feet to the fire and let him explain how the team will be competitive.

@Winston Hadaway I don't know if it's wined and dined so much as shown respect. He has enough money to wine and dine himself. I do think that he is staying.

@L-Switch  that's not true. the media will say something and fans will believe it

@theking  Marbury was an idiot, but also badly misused.  Basically he was an unstoppable penetrator, that just needed to be surrounded by shooters to become a superstar.  And somehow it was never achieved, even though this was the obvious plan on all the teams he went - for example Houston was supposed to be his perfect complement here, but was injured the whole time.

Chicago is just like NYC. Has its good parts and it's bad parts. I don't think that's the issue. The moving thing seems most poignant from that discussion to me than anything.

@Mel Brown  Chicago has to many question marks . rose and noah both coming back from knee surgery

@L-Switch I don't get the hate with him opting out. it could make other teams panic and trade or cut players hoping to make room for him. and what person wouldn't want to be appreciated?? fancy dinners and meetings with local celebrities

@L-Switch Phil already made him an offer.  They just kept it hush hush.

@BiggieTKB Folks be talking smack that Melo gonna join Lebron why not the other way around...I got a funny feeling though that Lebron is homesick,  I also believe he's sure as hell tired of Riley with his crap and the Heat for not showing up leaving him with a sour taste in his mouth.....you could bet the Cavs with Kyrie and draft picks would welcome him with open arms.....just some thoughts!!!!

@knicksgirl35  you can make boatloads of money but its nothing like being wined and dined and you feeling like you are appreciated

k@knicksgirl35 Melo know this is the Mecca and this is where he gonna make his legacy not piggyback on others!!!

That's not the media speaking for the fans but rather the media influencing some of the more gullible fans who view the media as a pure source of truth. I don't think Knicks fans in general have the same negative perspective of Carmelo Anthony as the media does.

@Kenny Kaufman  if I was worth it I would take it but after I robbed you for 80 mill I would understand

@brookdon True for the most part.  But timing and current events can influence alot.  Chi-town is my second fave city.  Alot of good memories there.

theking

@L-Switch  yea I understand that but you have a few that if  media says "melo needs to work on his defense and pass a lil more" they will make it seem as if he is a selfish ball hog that makes steve novak look like pippen on defense

Why shouldn't Stat take everything he is entitled to in his contract?

@Mel Brown @brookdon MELO said....I'm coming home..part 2!!!.......best believe it's NYC bound for Melo and I don't mean Brooklyn!!!

The "some" you refer to are mainly a handful of people who post on this particular blog. When I think "Knicks fans", I am referring to a base broader than who post on this particular blog site and the fair weather fans. I interact with fans in different capacities and they don't view Melo in a negative way. I even have friends who are Nets fans who hate the Knicks but love and respect Melo's game.

@L-Switch. Exactly. These 4 or 5 bozos that swear they know more than Phil... We all know more than Dolan, but not Lord of the Rings!
