All this talk about Tyson and players calling out the "coach"...Well that's Karma.  Just Desserts.  This clown has spent the whole season throwing players under the bus, "kicking them to the curb", and not accepting responsibility for his own innumerable failures as a "coach".  All season this clown has been blaming Beno, Bargs, and Shump for everything that goes wrong, especially when it concerns his son JR Smith.

Glad he's getting what has been coming to him, and people should take notice the criticism is coming from established veterans that have won rings and have very solid reputations around the NBA as pro's pros.

Mildly surprised that Brooklyn is so low at #9 here.  No surprise that the Hawks are #28 with their pathetic excuse of a franchise and fanbase.

If your wondering why we cannot win with one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world; the answer lies in the wondering.  It's because Dolan runs a solid corporate business why we cannot compete. It's  about the bottom line, and that bottom line is more important than winning.

I will never forget that, amidst an awful season and a sexual harassment lawsuit, Knicks value appreciated & MSG ratings increased

Lol so crazy. Just to add to Tifo's post.

Now we know why Dolan does not care whether they win or lose.  Knicks ranked the most valuable franchise in the NBA by Forbes.

LOL Heads up TKB writers, when our team plays this bad, this is usually the time we turn on you guys like we did Tommy!  It's tough being a Knicks Fan so ya need an outlet.  You're the closest plugin!

Can we start calling this feature, '__ amount of games out of a playoff spot.'

@ds2488 Hey, his system works, dagnabbit. I mean it has produced countless 2nd round playoff appearances.

@orlando_knickfan Brooklyn hasn't been doing as well (business-wise) as they projected. They put a lot of money into promotions, etc. That will probably rise in time. However, I think their monetary success will depend some on their on-court success while the Knicks clearly don't have to win to win.

@orlando_knickfan Mark Cuban and Nowitski are tight.  Cuban spent money for years trying to get a title with Dirk and they got one.  Dirk has only played for one team his entire career and at this point it would hurt his legacy to jump ship to another team even if it meant another shot at a title.

SheSaidSpikeWho

@orlando_knickfan After the last game, Carmelo supposedly told his teammates that he's "over it". I don't know what that means or if it's even true...I mean, it was reported by Stephen A.

thatsagoodpoint
thatsagoodpoint

@orlando_knickfan Because Nowitski isn't an 'in demand' talent right now the way Melo. If he resigns or announces his intentions to resign now he loses all leverage.

@tifoso6 Amazing to me how this is the case when the professional teams have literally done squat.

SheSaidSpikeWho
SheSaidSpikeWho

@tifoso6 It's pretty much been that way for a long time too. The Knicks may not be successful basketball-wise but business is always booming. Carmelo adds to that. So, while people don't think he's worth $130 million, Dolan says he's worth that and more when it comes to his wallet.

@SheSaidSpikeWho I agree that these things should be kept in house. Just like Woody should be called out for throwing his players under the bus. He's lost half if not most of his locker room. The whole Chris Smith and JR thing. Destroying Shump's confidence, Beno, ect.

@SheSaidSpikeWho Did Woody pull a shank from his beard in the confrontation? Locker Room Rules Punk!. Locker Room Rules! LOL

@thatsagoodpointNo more Mariano and that spells the Yanks finally seeing what other teams have to go thru at end of games.  It will be quite fun watching them sweat trying to close out games.

@SheSaidSpikeWho@orlando_knickfan The nets are going to face the same challenges that the Mets face regardless of where they play. I mean regardless of how hip and fresh Brooklyn is right now, Midtown Manhattan will always be tops. It's why MSG does not want to have to leave just so a few eggheads can 'reinvision' Penn Station.

SheSaidSpikeWho

@Blaze NYK @orlando_knickfan I don't think Dirk moving to another team at this point in his career would hurt his legacy. I think Dirk's legacy is cemented. He just doesn't seem like the jumping ship type. He looks like he's very comfortable where he is.

orlando_knickfan
orlando_knickfan

@SheSaidSpikeWho I heard that but don't know if he meant the last game or the whole situation.  He really needs to clear the fog about his mindset with the organization.

orlando_knickfan
orlando_knickfan

@thatsagoodpoint I disagree because he would come cheap as opposed to Melo.  Plus he is not perceived as a black hole unlike Anthony which is a problem.

Blaze NYK
Blaze NYK

@SheSaidSpikeWho @tifoso6 Yup.  And even if the regular fans boycott the team, it doesn't matter.  The seats are so expensive anyways that the only people who can afford them are rich tourists and corporate types who go there more to schmooze clients and aren't real fans.  They don't care if The Knicks lose, just as long as there's a marquee name like Melo and plus they get to see other stars from other teams.

The only way the real fans can hurt Dolan is if we stop watching the games on MSG and stop buying the merchandise.  There needs to be a real boycott and that also means not going to concerts at The Garden or supporting The Rangers either (or going to Radio City Hall too).

@C0P0 Lol Pulled a razor blade out of his beard like Birdie in Above the Rim lol.

thatsagoodpoint
thatsagoodpoint

@orlando_knickfan@thatsagoodpoint Yeah Dirk would be cheap but if money is equal you just stay where you are. He's not a missing piece to very many championship puzzles anymore. So on an open market he wouldn't be an in demand talent the way Melo is.

SheSaidSpikeWho
SheSaidSpikeWho

@Blaze NYK @SheSaidSpikeWho @tifoso6 You're right that the real fans need to boycott. I don't live in NY anymore so I don't attend games. If I want to watch the Knicks live, I go when they play the heat (which is an annoying experience to say the least...one of the worst arena experiences there is imo). I did buy a white Melo jersey when the jersey style changed lol. Not anymore though lol.

SheSaidSpikeWho

@orlando_knickfan @SheSaidSpikeWho I just think everyone has a breaking point. He's been in the league for a long time, has a ring, and has been described as a consummate professional and leader...I usually listen a little harder when someone like him takes an approach like this. Now, if someone like JR was running his mouth, I take that with a grain of salt because, you know, JR lol.
