I will absolutely believe this when I see it. The team’s #2 scoring option is, and will continue to be, J.R. Smith at the expense of Amar’e. I said this on twitter and I will say it again.
Woodson has to find out a way to go offense defense with Amar’e and Chandler down the stretch if he feels as if the team can’t be cohesive with the 3 of them.
That message was sent loud and clear against Miami the other day. Amar’e's offense was desperately needed as was the double post presences that both he AND Melo bring that Chandler simply does not.
Woodson took Amar’e off the floor in the closing seconds of the game last night for defense substituting Shumpert, but he needs to do MUCH more of that going forward in BIG moments of KEY games.
Simply put, Woodson has to become far more creative in his substitution patterns as it relates to leveraging Stat’s offensive ability, which have been on display consistently since his return.
