Regarding why he chose to sign with the Knicks:
You look at their roster, you’ve got some great pieces. With the intention of signing Lin back, I saw that I can help. Hopefully (I can) help them win and help Lin. He’s a talented point guard, so at this stage of my career I just felt that I could help those guys win.
On what he expects his role to be with the team:
I’m not 25 years old and I don’t need the fireworks when my name is called (for) the starting lineup. I just want to be in there at the end of the game to try to help the team win. … The last six minutes of an NBA game is where you make your name, so hopefully I’m in there trying to help my guys win.
That last-six-minute rotation might be a tough one to crack, no?
Though the team doesn’t exactly have a plethora of shooting guards at the moment, so who knows what our down-the-stretch lineup will look like in 5 months…
