Listen to Anthony “Rice Balls” Donahue talking New York Knicks basketball on a two-hour edition of TheKnicksBlog Radio.
Anthony was joined by legendary filmmaker and Knick superfan, Spike Lee. Spike is a long-time Knicks season ticket holder, who can be found cheering on his team, on a nightly basis, courtside at Madison Square Garden.
Lee is an acclaimed movie director, producer, actor and writer who has captivated audiences around the world with his brilliant work. Spike is renowned nationally as the “#1 Knick Fan,” and the sight of his vocal fanaticism in his seat adjascent to the Garden floor has been a trademark of the franchise’s fan base for years.
Donahue touched on the current Knicks team with Spike, as well as the tremendous amount of hype surrounding the team’s recent streak of seven victories in its last eight games. Lee was on hand Tuesday night, as the Knicks downed their crosstown rival New Jersey Nets, 111-100, in what many called a “statement game.”
Spike Lee’s passion is always on full display at the World’s Most Famous Arena. His exchanges with Reggie Miller (pictured) were well documented in the mid-late 1990’s.
This off-season, when the Knicks missed out on LeBron James in free agency, Spike expressed his confidence in the direction of the franchise, his excitement about the acquisition of Amar’e Stoudemire, and his eagerness to renew the Knicks-Heat rivalry. This will be a very special interview that you do not want to miss.
Anthony was also joined by John Krolik, who covers the Cleveland Cavaliers for “Cavs: The Blog,” a media entity which is part of the ESPN TrueHoop Network.
Donahue and Krolik discussed the intrigue surrounding LeBron’s return to Quicken Loans Arena to face the Cavaliers on Thursday night.
