Now or Never For Carmelo Anthony

Michael Mitarotonda

Finally an NBA champion, LeBron James has earned the ability to rightfully call himself “King James”.

James has faced multiple years of criticism and pressure for failing to produce in the playoffs, but this season will be different.

James will pass the “pressure torch” to the man who was drafted just two spots behind him in 2003.

LeBron’s championship ring puts the most pressure to win on Carmelo Anthony.

Now the highest scoring active player without a title to his name, Anthony has won just two playoff series in his nine year career.

His teams are just 17-37 in the postseason, a .315 winning percentage which is the worst of any player with at least 50 playoff games in league history.

This season there are no more excuses for Anthony. He has had ample time to familiarize himself with his teammates and coaching staff.

Losing in the first round of the playoffs won’t reach expectations this season.

It doesn’t matter what Carmelo Anthony has done in his career. All that matters is what he will do for the Knicks.
