Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose said Sunday that it was “not his job” to try and bring in free agent Carmelo Anthony (ESPN, June 30).
Anthony is expected to visit the Bulls when he officially becomes a free agent on Tuesday. Rose’s stance on bringing in Anthony won’t come as a surprise to the Bulls front office as he was never a major part of the pitch to begin with.
“If they want to come, they can come,” Rose said in an interview with Yahoo! Sports.
While Rose is clear on his approach toward Anthony, he is less clear about his participation in Team USA’s training camp.
“I still don’t know yet,” Rose said. “If I’m feeling right and the time is [right], for sure I will go out there. My body is responding good, but you never know.”
