Lebron may sign on for a one year contract to the Heat , Hopefully we'll get Melo to take his Max Check

if Melo really wanna Win and keep his Money he'd resign and suggest Phil make a play for Bron for 2015 that's if Bron does a 1 Year Deal

or if he just wanna win with no big payday go to MIA or CHI

Tomorrow we'll know where we stand though with the future of this Squad

Does anyone know what this stretch provision is? And are the Knicks eligible to use it on anyone to free up space?

So nobody thinks there's a chance Phil is looking to improve this years team to give Melo more incentive to stay?

The Los Angeles Clippers have had discussions about the possibility of acquiring LeBron James, though they expect him to eventually re-sign with the Miami Heat.

Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ president of basketball operations and coach, and his staff are doing their due diligence to make the team better and would consider moving All-Star power forward Blake Griffin along with others in a sign-and-trade deal to get James, according to the officials.

The Clippers could consider sending Griffin and Jared Dudley or Matt Barnes to Miami to get James.

The Clippers wouldn’t mind trading DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford and either Barnes or Dudley to the Heat for James, but the team knows that would most likely be hard to do.

“The Miami Heat does not think he’s leaving,” one official said. “Miami thinks it’s a ploy by James to make the team better.”

As many here are pointing out, most of the potential signees for 2015 are dropping off the market.  The biggest is gone (LeBron), and it's looking like Love will be too.  LA will probably stay put.  Basically, the options are all disappearing.  So what will we do?

There are 3 options: 1. wait till 2016 and beyond, 2. sign B-list stars, or 3. trade your expirings for long term contracts, like we've always done.  I'm worried that we will trade.  It will be very hard to maintain patience in NYC indefinitely, especially once the FA market starts to dry up.

Aargh!  We only have $1.8M to buy a pick.  According to the Post, we gave Toronto 1.2M in the Bargnani trade (the gift that keeps on giving), so are only left with 1.8 - basically that's only good for a mid to late 2nd rounder IMO, damn, I was hoping for late first.

How could they afford melo and lebron with Kobe makin 24 mill?

@JesusBlasTheKnickWay

LA can offer the 7th pick in a very good draft to move Nash. If you think about it, it's basically selling the pick for the price of Nash's contract.

@Mel Brown dudes are gettin old. Injuries start to occur. Melo is resigning for the super max. One yr deals would make a star's future shakey. If he gets injured on a contract yr he would have to take less the following season

That's a long nap, July 1st to talk, I believe July 9th til anything can be official

@Seth Nadler  phil can not improve the roster with no money to spare. we will never be able to move stat or bargs so we are stuck with dead weight for another year

johneco

@JesusBlasTheKnickWay  Yea, Miami is gonna S&T Lebron for that crap, you think they won't get WAY better offers if he's on the market?

And why would he come here, to play with Melo and who else?  No center, no PG, no 3rd star.

I really missed those Nate Robinson Channing Frye..Wilson chandler Gallo days...sunny days ahead!

@theking  We said the same thing about Miami. Lakers only have scrubs on their book besides Kobe. Well, Nash does not count.

@knega @Tony Fonseca  I did not make that connection.. It would be bowing to the power of the female species.

@AgeesCatch @Tony Fonseca  I just don't see Kobe handing the keys of the Lakers to Lebron like Wade did in Miami.. It would be a clash of BIG egos on who would take the final shot

Seth Nadler

So could the Knicks do that with Amare?

johneco
johneco

@theking @Seth Nadler  We can easily move Stat and Bargs, they are expirings.  The problem is we'd likely have to take back long term contracts, which didn't mesh with our 2015 plans.  If we give up on 2015, there are numerous players we can trade for.

Players would want to come play with a melo lebron tandem. That's at the very lease ECf squad

@carl hill @MeloStat301

I think LeBron is pressuring Wade to opt out. If he walks, Wade is going to have to carry the load and play every night. That would put more stress on his knees and he would get burned out quickly.

Tony Fonseca

@Sandro Guedes @AgeesCatch  I think Chandler will become a volleyball player when he retires. He is already practicing that with his rebounding style. IMO, Chandler is very stiff and he is in the NBA because of his height.

That's the thing he never asked for the max idk why y'all keep saying that

Kvdaone

@Seth Nadler even if we stretched Amare, his contract would still interfere with next season moves

Knicks_Fanatic
Knicks_Fanatic

@Seth Nadler

No, it can only be used on contracts signed after the new CBA. So Amar'e is not eligible to be stretched.

theking

2015 is a pipe dream. Rondo will probably be the only one available if the love trade doesn't go down. The top free agents will likely be on their team under contract so if we can move them then we should do it

theking

Exactly teams would trade for him but knowing he won't resign they won't give up much for a rental

MeloStat301
MeloStat301

@pezhao  Nope...54 wins and the second seed was a start, this past season was happenstance, that's all.  Either way, if Melo comes back great...if he doesn't I trust Phil and fisher to put a contending team out there sooner rather than later.  Both only signed for 5 years..chances are they are thinking now, not 7 years from now.

johneco
johneco

@carl hill @johneco  They need to talk about something.  But I think the whole Lebron wants to play with his friends thing is totally overblown by the media.  I mean, ideally, maybe.  But I seriously doubt they want to play together so bad that they move their families to Houston (one of the worst cities in the country IMO) to play for an unbalanced team that won't have any guards that can shoot.

Tony Fonseca
Tony Fonseca

@AgeesCatch @Tony Fonseca  My man we are smoking something. Kobe has a ego bigger than Melo and Lebron combined. He was the one who pushed Shaq out of town so he could be final MVP.

chudogz1
chudogz1

@AgeesCatch. Don't waste you're time! 2 posts ago he said Nash can be signed and traded... He's not as bright as he thinks, obviously!

MeloStat301
MeloStat301

@pezhao  I did not know melo was here for over a decade...wow..interesting lol.  Since melo has been here we have had only 1 losing season...facts.

Your thinking goes against what Phil himself and fisher have both said..that they believe Melo is a piece they can build around...but don't want to look desperate in trying to keep him here.  Your analysis of the situation is very deluded lol.

theking
theking

@pezhao  which is why he keeps telling him not to opt out? makes sense for a guy you don't want to keep as your centerpiece see amare and bargs
