Kevin Love intrigued by Phil Jackson’s Knicks

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, who can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2014-15 season, spoke Thursday about the Knicks being “a place where I think anybody would like to go” due to Phil Jackson’s presence (Youngmisuk, June 12).

Love has already stated that he has no interest in signing a contract extension with Minnesota, and the Knicks’ interest in Love has previously been made known.

If the Timberwolves elect to trade Love during the 2014-15 campaign, the Knicks will be hard-pressed to come up with a package that entices Minnesota.

However, if Love hits free agency, the Knicks should have the cap space necessary to land him.

So if the Heat lose...Lebron went to 5 finals...and loses 3 of them....would Michael have lost 3 finals?  I don't think so.

So will the Lebron Reign come to an end on sunday night?

Exit Stern.  Exit Lebron.

Enter Silver.  Enter KD.

This is what the NBA is going to do....

Im actually excited...Melo no Melo...(preferably melo here) the knicks play a brand of basketball that involves movement, screens, and just a ton of misdirection...should be fun.

We are finding out that these franchises are worth billions of dollars, and they have a cap of 56 58 m, and a lux tax over that. How efing greedy are these owners. You all are talking about ballas not being worth 20m or so. Why are these franchises worth that much? Because the players attract that much money. You guys are saying no ballas worth 20m, yet I hear nothing that Sterling is getting 2B to lose his franchise? Where is the fair?

I may be in the minority, but I am not too big on Love. The triangle needs a Noah or Marc Gasol, both great passing and defending bigs. Not saying that Noah is available, but Gasol will be the same year Love is, so yeah.

@BiggieTKB. Inform you're crew at TKB that Melo opted out and it's time for a new post.... We really don't care about Love, especially this year if we have to give up the farm for him... If he plays out the season in Minnesota, then we may be interested..... We want to keep Shump. THJR and any other assets (future draft picks) we may have... These players need to follow LeFlops blue prong of not making the team they plan to go to gut themselves in order to get them, like we did for Melo, thanks to Guitar Shimmy being so desperate, just so he could raise ticket prices..!!

"Heat are exhausted...Heat are tired!...they are gassed!!"

I guess Michael scottie and the boys werent tired or exhausted winning three in a row?  I guess kobe shaq weren't tired either?  Especially the bulls teams...playing such physical teams in the playoffs....and gassed??  Come on!!!

Best case scenario in my opinion is this:

A. Melo opts out and get wined and dinned by the (not so)big 3 and the rest of the league.

B. Resigns with the Knicks and says the following at his press conference "I am flattered by all the offers and attention by the good organizations that offered me a deal but I came home to do something and that's win a championship or die trying. And to show how committed I am to this quest I've signed a 12mil a  year/5 yr contract. That way next year we can get me some help. I'm talking to you Mr. Love" Drops the mic.

Unfortunately most TKB fans ears are to dull to comprehend the thoughts of reason and justice your preaching for. There are only a few of us out there, but I rejoice in the fact that it is not I alone who is refusing to bend his knees to kiss the a$$ of Baal!

@bblessed  No No....Dwayne pearl Washington...and Duane Washington are two different people.  Derek fisher is brothers with Duane Washington...not Dwayne who went to Syracuse....

@BiggieTKB There's a difference between saying they want to play and actually playing though.  I can probably find some Lebron quotes from June 2010 regarding this.

@BiggieTKB  A lot of these guys...were kids in the Jordan/kobe/Phil eras....Phil is a legend in their minds and in a lot of peoples minds...it does have an effect...rookie front office role or not.

@carl hill. $18 mill or so per year isn't getting his, while helping the team!!! LeBron and those bozos still "got theirs" plus they get endorsements... Taking a minor pay cut to help the team, while not having to move his family again, sell his place he's staying in and having to buy a new place should also come into consideration... If he really wants to win, making a minor sacrifice shouldn't be that big of an issue.. Also take into consideration that him and "Honey Nut Cheerios" have family in NYC... Go Knicks

@carl hill  you mean the broke fans crying for him to take a paycut knowing they wouldn't do it?

HypoCrit_calNYKfans

@knicks1 It's all about respect toward him, as oppose to being self-righteous in your beliefs. I believe he deserves the max, and if I was GM  I would find a way to give him all that he ask for, OUT OF RESPECT!

Shawn M Hayes

@knicks1 SHOULD we even give him $128M to make him stay? (I say no)

I wouldn't. Don't think Melo expects that either.

@knicks1  I wouldn't and I doubt he would want it seeing as how he would sacrifice money to help the team

Never!!! That would be such a knicks move.

@Darwin Hernandez

If that ball was in your court would you take half of your paycheck and let your billionaire employer keep the other half because of a flawed financial system manipulated by your billionaire employer? If you would that would make you a fool TWICE!

@Darwin Hernandez. Dream on... And pass on Love.. We need some good 2 way players, a pg and a big that can score when needed..

@bblessed  Funny thing...Dwayne was drafterd in 86 by the nets...while duane was drafted in 87...and played for the nets.

@Shawn M Hayes  no player would get 128 because no one can carry a team to a championship by themselves
