Jeremy Tyler, the 2011 second-round pick of the Charlotte Bobcats, has received an invitation from the Knicks to attend their training camp, according to Jonah Ballow of KnicksNow.com. With this invite, New York has granted the 22-year-old a non-guaranteed minimum-salary contract and a chance to make their 2013 roster.

The Knicks are giving Tyler the same chance that they gave Chris Copeland last season, and they are hoping for similar results from the young and athletic forward/center. Copeland just signed a $6.135 million deal with the Pacers this month.

Soon after being drafted, Tyler was traded to the Golden State Warriors, for whom he made 23 starts in his rookie season averaging 7.1 PPG and 5.1 RPG. He played limited minutes last season with the Warriors before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks. He was waived two weeks after the trade.

Tyler has been impressive during summer league games for the Knicks, adding to their frontcourt and averaging 12.8 PPG and 6.4 RPG.
