In Phil Jackson we have now set into action the opportunity for Carmelo Anthony to become the ultimate "coach killer"...

Do not understand this move. The New York Knicks need someone to come in and be in charge of basketball opeations, but Phil Jackson is not the right man for this particular job. Just do not think he will work the 24/7 necessary. In his last years on the Los Angeles Lakers bench, Phil did not even want to make road trips. Will he be working from New York, or Montana and/or Los Angeles? Just do not think he will be totally invested in the job. On the other hand, at $15 Million per year, James Dolan is totally invested in Phil Jackson.

I've been trying to post an interview with Phil Jackson by the Huffington Post, in the interview he explains part of reason he wants to get back involved in basketball is, because the "Triangle" has been misunderstood. For whatever reason my link is "pending" whatever that means? The interview is on YouTube, it's titled "Phil Jacksons Triangle Offense players had to play all the roles"

With that being said I believe he's going to hire a coaching staff that can implement his "Side Triangle Offense" try to check out the interview....it's really interesting.

Oh my God. Just wrap this up and announce it already. This has been the most long, drawn out story in…ah, who am I kidding? It wouldn't be the Knicks without some unnecessary drama.

To those who want to get rid of everyone, tank, and sign 3 top FAs in 2015, from this list:

(Rondo/Kyrie/M.Gasol/Hibbert/Dragic/Aldridge/T.Parker/Love)

Choose your favorite 3.

Is that a championship team that can beat Miami or OKC?  No.

@darealeric  Your banter is droll and your commentary pedantic.

You are not smart enough for this blog. Find another derelict!

Who would you have hired?

Just as long as the rally gets cancelled, that's all that matters...

Phil Jackson is the right man. He will hire the right people to get the job done and he will have say in all things Knicks. His decision making and leadership skills are impeccable. PHIL IS A WINNER and he will bring that here.

@Kiyan Carter I agree with u on!  Even Melo doesn't deserve Howard.  Noah will be the defensive player of the year imo and that's the only place I see Melo going other than the Heat which is very unlikely.

Money talking has nothing to do with the Knicks. It talks everywhere.

@johneco Healthy Rondo/ Kyrie Hibbert and Aldridge?  Hmmm...that darn near rivals heat and okc..def better than pacers.

@johneco

1. Kyrie - RFA - Cleveland keeps him.

2. Love - Player option. soft, overrated, b¨tchy primadonna who can't carry a team and is already talking about  La La Land - pass

3. Rondo - I'll take him in a second if we have a coach who doesn't implement the triangle or else his talents will go to waste.

4. LA - any day of the week, and has the bonus of being a perfect fit in a hypothetical triangle.

5. Hibbert - player option. Given Indy's situation and the money he's getting, why would he leave?

6. Gasol - An option, but I don't know how dominant he'll be by then. His future hinders upon next season's performance.

7. Dragic - Player option. His status will depend upon Phoenix's situation within the WC.

8. Parker - Since he'll be older, he won't command max money (though it won't stop him from asking), and if SA can't keep up their high level, there's a chance he'll want to leave, especially considering Manu is a FA as well that year.

No chance at getting 3 though. The new CBA was strictly structured to avoid this from happening. Severe paycuts would have to occur from every player involved, and I just don't see that happening.

@johneco Kyrie/Hardaway/Top Draft Pick/Love/Hibbert

Or hold off on one FA for one year and make a run at Durant.

Maybe you don't beat OKC now, Miami won't be Miami by the time this plan happens

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@MeloStat301  There's no chance at getting 3. None whatsoever. Poeple need to get this clear.

Every single one of these players will be looking for the max. That along the 15+ mil that will be on the books along with the uncertainty off what the cap will look like.

No chance.

And of course, this hypothetical choice implies that Melo won't be around.

@VerySilentJay @lindro88  I think you are missing my point.  NY is a big city.  Lot of people don't watch any team unless they are winning.  If the bandwagon is full, means the team is winning.  Doesn't effect die hards like you.

VerySilentJay

@lindro88  I get where you're going.

I was just brought up to stick with your team under every possible circumstance.

lindro88

@VerySilentJay @lindro88 @carl hill  Everyone isn't going to watch every night, or lose sleep over the team.  If the bandwagon is full it means things are rocking.  That's all I mean.

@redhorse @xmenreturnSo do I but we can't even get into the playoffs!

I wanted the Ewing teams to MJ's teams, Bird Teams and etc.

It's not about the perfect especially with players moving more about now.

It's about winning and if my team wins, I'm talking sh#t to all those who have belittled my teams over the many years!

Now you come around and want to put more stipulations on winning.

That's like telling Mr. Ed that you have to run on your hind legs only to win he Kentucky Derby.

Just win Ed! Kick the other horses if ya have to!

@xmenreturn @redhorse

I will still root for the knicks even if we get lbj..But im just asking what happened to the competetiveness with players and fans... I want melo to beat lbj not join forces with him... I dont know thats just my opinion..

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@redhorse @xmenreturnWOW! You're just Mr. Ed.

I root for my team.  If we get LBJ, I will still root for my team.  We have Melo, I still root for my team.  We have Felton, I still root for my team.

Got that Ed?

xmenreturn

@lindro88 @xmenreturn@thatsagoodpoint

Yep i agree but if Melo was central to Phil's plan to build around, Phil would surely talk to Melo before signing any deal especially knowing Melo has an opt out.

Did you hear and see how Melo sounded when asked has he talked to Phil.  That the image of a man who thinks he's being disrespected and maybe listening to the voices who says he's not Phil type of player.

By not hearing from Phil, this would surely lend some concerns that it maybe true.

We shall see but this will be big one way or the other.

lindro88
lindro88

@xmenreturn @thatsagoodpoint  Phil is bigger than Melo.  Phil doesn't have to get Melo's blessing.  That's a good thing.  Melo seems oblivious to all of this.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@redhorse @xmenreturnYIKES!  Watered down!  You don't have to root for him.  I will do it for everyone to get us a ring.

Keep that pride strong trying to win a ring with Melo beating a LBJ team.

I'm tired of losing and some of you have a stipulation of getting a ring.

This is not food stamps, you have to earn or win a ring.  There are no guarantees getting one.

@redhorse

This is the "age" of suckers, tricks, and slurp-ers! What your reading are a bunch of slurp-ers who will do practically anything to win. Even choosing to go as far as getting rid of their "self respect" if it means they will be able to kiss LeFlop's sneakers!

redhorse

@xmenreturn @redhorse

wouldnt the chip be watered down tho??  Yea sure Id love to win but im sorry i cannot root for lebron... I hope it dont happen

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@redhorse

 Well I don't have enough years left to wait for Melo to beat a LBJ team int he playoffs.

You folks really do like losing or just the imaginary thought of winning a certain way.

 Sure there is a play to be made for LBJ. I have went of this too many times.

xmenreturn
xmenreturn

@knicks50 @xmenreturnDude, I'm about winning. We haven't won since the early 70s and I have no time for anything that gets in the way of winning a ring.

U proud of this year?

LOL, At what a "proud slurper" you are!

Next your gonna be saying how much you want LeFlop to be your baby"s daddy!

@thatsagoodpoint You better get Phil to call the dude he plans to build around.  Does Phil knows Melo can opt out?

Nice to have your central guy still waiting by the phone while u sign a huge deal!

If Phil is that dumb, we are in big trouble! lol
