Lakers won’t pursue Fisher; Cartwright waits

The Knicks’ quest for Derek Fisher as head coach won’t have a competition from his old team. The Lakers, who also need a head coach after firing Mark D’Antoni, are not considering their long-time guard who was a part of five NBA title teams in Los Angeles. Fisher is expected to retire from the NBA and will meet with Knicks president Phil Jackson about the opening.( L.A. Times.)

While Fisher and the Knicks talk, Bill Cartwright is back to square one with the Knicks. Cartwright was the top choice after Steve Kerr chose to coach the Warriors. (Abramson, June 7)

Anyone that truely believes that LeRoid and KD don`t get special treatment by the refs is not living in reality. Last night LeRoid went to the hoop and was fouled, he took 4 steps and the refs gave him the hoop??? The play on Duncun late in the game when Le stole the ball, the replay shows him going right across Tims elbows, to lodge the ball loose. I could go through a litany of plays. He gets special treatment

Would anyone trade Timmy plus Felton for Reggie Jackson?

It seems fair to me.  Timmy is a potential star, and is on a rookie contract for 3 more years. Jackson has less star potential, but has made a case for being a starting NBA PG.  However he's on an expiring contract.  So they also take back Felton's contract to even things out, maybe throw in #29 as well.

We gain: cap space for next summer, plus a more balanced roster

They gain: a potential star at a position of need

I literally hate the Heat. They flop their way to championships and the corrupt refs fall for it every time. BTW Phil is better than Pop.

Don't know if I agree with having Tim Duncan guard the perimeter rather than Diaw who is quicker and can play bosh out there. CB4 blew by Timmy there and Duncan would have definitely contested that had he been in the paint.

Those 4 free throws missed killed this team. So frustrating.

Wow. I did not know dh12 was the new Shawn kemp. If he is guilty with tonnage high school girl.....he has some real real serious police problems.

All signs are pointing to Melo staying with the Knicks (by my assessment):

-Shelly Sterling may keep a small piece of the Clippers

-D.Rose's health should still remain a pertinent issue

-Dwight Howard having an inappropriate relationship with a 16 year old girl. *what an idiot*

Keep your eye fixated on Danny Ainge. He may have a serious trick or two up his sleeve.

Why the concern for Bill Cartwright? Is he down on his luck? Low on cash? Why the urgency to have a resolution for him? Is the writer of this post his agent?....lol

Report: Cavaliers plan to offer Kyrie Irving full max contract extension

There has been tumult and speculation surrounding Kyrie Irving and his impending contract extension for quite some time, but that could be done soon, as the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the team intends to offer its point guard a full five-year max contract.

Once July 1 hits and teams are allowed to offer contract extensions, the Cavaliers are expected to present Irving with a deal in the five-year, $90 million range, or the maximum allowed under the collective-bargaining agreement. The team will do so without any concessions, according to the Plain Dealer.

@Chris. Agreed.. Definite favoritism... LeRoid gets it the most tho

@Chris  No sheeit.

But it's always been this way.  Jordan might have been the best player ever, but the calls he would get against us were ridiculous sometimes, I'm sure many here remember.  Refs always favor the biggest star players, I don't think it's a conspiracy, just human nature.

Why waste your time?

Kd shoots more jumpers then melo yet averages 11 freethrows a game .. How?

Lebron gets a way with damn near everything he can lower his shoulder and barrel into players all while drawing a foul.

I would do it to get a pg but I doubt okc gives us Jackson and a pic. If I was running the Knicks I would try for rondo first with anything outside of melo and shump and then if they so no try the same for Westbrook

@knickfan2 DH is a real pervert. What he did should be grounds for his ass being thrown out of the NBA.

@knickfan2  trust me ... its no way melo goes to the Celtics. they don't like him in boston he gets booed there as if he was in Denver.

if anything Chicago should be the dark horse but like I been saying all alon melo remains a knick.

that's just imo of course

@knicks1. Actually, he got hired by Marshall to be their head coach.

@Knicks1 for the second time in as many job opportunities. Only this time the finger wasn't pointed at the star player as was the case when Melo was demonized.

@johneco @Chris  I agree! Every time they show that shot against the Jazz in the finals and he's clearly pushing his defender with his left hand to get some space and I hardly hear anyone complain about it and if you do your a Jordan Hater!!!

@theking

Last year's shot charts say that KD took fewer jumpshots than Carmelo (if "jump shot" is defined as FG attempt from outside the paint).  ~41% of KD's attempts came from the paint (688 FGAs); whereas 28% of Carmelo's attempts came from the paint (462 FGAs).

knicksgirl35

@Gee Daniels @knicksgirl35 It really seems set up at times. They called so many fouls on Kawhi Leonard so he couldn't be as aggresive so Lebron could have a good night.

rgm891
rgm891

Absolutely man. The knicks can learn a thing or two watching spurs tape. It is a shame players took playing here for granted. Pop has always found ways to motivate these guys and play together. What a legend.

That's funny....

It does look like they have more of a scouting report on refs than other team.....

Not fun to watch, wade milks it so badly n Lebron is too good to be crying as much as he does.....

We are knick fans so we know all about players who complain to officials all game.

Dan D'Antoni was hired by Marshall University to be the head coach of the men's basketball program (must have been his superior defensive acumen which sold the braintrust).

Mike D'Antoni quit yet again, and is living the good life from his home in Westchester, NY.

Mark D'Antoni's whereabouts are currently unknown.

Now on to more important matters at hand involving the 'bockers.........................

@carl hill His behind needs to go to under the jail if he did anything with her for statutory rape and pedophilia and whatever else.

Ray Jorge
Ray Jorge

@knicksgirl35  It's deeper than that, i believe he went to an all boy private H.S. & then to the NBA. I remember reading he came into the league a virgin. So he's a late bloomer with his social skills. Physically he's a man but mentally he's going thru puberty. I'm not justifying him breaking the law but using names like pedophilia is a reach. Did a research on him online after hearing this story and looking at the diversity of women he had children with and most of the characteristic of his children's mothers look & act like H.S. cheerleaders.(taking bathroom self pics & posting them on instagram) So in summary i pray for his children's sake he did not sleep with her because the domino affect would scar them. Also i have a lot of nieces and their innocence (mostly do to the internet) has been long gone way before their 16th birthday. So please let's not act so uppity moral and want his punishment to be banned for life or be put under the Jail. If true i believe counseling in this particular situation i just don't like following the masses on moral judgements! This is not a personal attack to you Knicksgirl35(I total enjoy your post because your an unapologetic Melo fan like me,wink wink) just giving my humble opinion as an amateur psychologist.

knicksgirl35
knicksgirl35

@Gee Daniels I hope it's not fixed. I'm just glad we have Phil. He'll teach our new coach what to do in these types of situations.
