Islander fans, in general, put far too strong an emphasis on winning!

Very off topic, but I'm watching Sharks-Hawks and a commercial came on for Rangers-Hawks this week.  I just love how everyone around hockey seems to want the Rangers to be good so badly because they're an original 6 team and they spend a lot of money on their players.  Meanwhile, not only are they the worst of the original 6 teams at the moment, but they are by FAR the worst out of them all time.  In tough times in Islanders country, this gives me solace.  And every year going into the season all you hear from "experts" and rangers fans (who may be the most delusional in sports) is how good the Rangers are going to be.  Then when they shockingly aren't as good as they're billed, it's the coaches fault, they want Lundqvist traded, Del Zotto is getting run out of town, and even Nash has caught heat amongst Rags fans recently.  I love it.  End of rant.

First, opposing goalie stood on his head . Amac and  Carkner both gotta go. The game is too fast in regards to their on ice decisions. Strome is getting better every game . This kid is going to be a force

To me it sounds like he is trying to put all the blame on Snow and Wang for the way the team is built. Sure they haven't really helped out but this guy couldn't even have a winning team with Chicago's roster. Please get a real coach.

@palffy

I do believe it has something to do with the bright lights of Broadway.  They say you can bring a real player in to town but under the bright lights with all the surrounding temptations, most of them go astray.  Messier was the exception, and without him in a Broadway blue shirt, perhaps we would still be screaming "1940"...

@rmreturns No, but how about the Gm make a move?? Get a Dman with some experience? How about get a coach who the players actually respect? But let me guess, your going to say where can i find a coach at this time of year? Or what Dman are out there? Right?

There must have been 5-6 times this clown Cappy kept his timeout in his pocket when a real coach (torts/julien/Babcock)etc would have used it!! That's bad coaching!!

Funny thing, AMAC stayed on the ice after that turnover behind the net.

To be fair, I'd rather work for Mr. Slate than Chuckie and Snowblow.

But we're not. And quite frankly, a this point, 1994 is ancient history. 1940 was fun when it wasn't pure schadenfreude and fans were rubbing the Rag fans nose in it because they're team was losing for so long and the Isles were awesome. It was obnoxious but fun. Now, the obsession with the Rags by some is actually pretty lame since the Isles have now been straddled with bad ownership and have sucked for as long as the Rags ever did back in the day. It's 31 years and counting. I'll grant you that 27 of the Rags years amaze more because of a 6 team league, so that's ineptitude on a different scale, but I didn't live that. I am living this epic humiliation and embarrassment of seeing a once esteemed and trying franchise being grind to dust. Rags have nothing to do with that.

@rmreturns Or just blame the losing culture that surrounds this team year after year.

I didn't mean last night but other times this year!! Like the kings game at nvmc!! Could have used his timeout as the team was imploding!! But hey keep swinging @rmreturns you'll get rewarded by wanger for posting such idiotic tripe!!!
